Project Medina is a 501(c)(3) organization working to transform a local Islamic School (Daara) in Medina (The Gambia) into a formal Integrated Islamic Learning Institution (Abubacarr School), build a library to provide students access to educational resources, and improve healthcare by modernizing the health center for Medina and the nearby cities.

We have successfully started construction of the Islamic School and are seeking help to complete the project.

The proposed project components for the school are as follows:

• Erect a fence around the entire school premise. (Completed)
  
• Install a solar-powered borehole system to provide reliable water supply (Completed)
  Build fully equipped classrooms to accommodate students
  
• Build a prayer room, conference hall, toilets and a playground.
• Install sufficient solar panels to provide electricity
  
• Build a library

WORK ALREADY COMPLETED

• ​Recently completed fencing the perimeter of the school at a cost of $9000+
• Installed a water borehole system at a cost of over $2300
• Raised $20,000 in donations during a Ramadan fundraiser in 2020
• Been paying the monthly salaries for two Quran teachers since 2010
