Since 2023, Sudan has been devastated by conflict marked by mass displacement, widespread hunger, and alarming levels of violence. Today, 24.6 million people face acute food insecurity, over 10 million are internally displaced, and 80% of hospitals in conflict-affected areas are no longer functioning. Millions of children have been forced out of school, with entire communities struggling to survive without access to basic services.
For over three decades, Muslim Aid has worked in Sudan through its Country Office in Khartoum, supporting vulnerable communities through emergency response, food security, healthcare, education, and WASH (water, sanitation and hygiene) programmes. Even amid instability, teams continue to deliver lifesaving assistance while building long-term resilience.
Humanitarian efforts include distributing food, clean water, cash assistance, and shelter, while also restoring livelihoods and rebuilding essential infrastructure. Through community-based education programmes, schools are rehabilitated, teachers are trained, and children are supported with learning materials to return to safe and sustainable education. In healthcare, Muslim Aid delivers vital medical services, maternal care, vaccinations, and community health outreach — ensuring families can access treatment despite the collapse of much of the national system.
In 2023 alone, Muslim Aid supported 180,000 people across health, education, livelihoods, and emergency interventions — but the need remains immense.
Your donation can help provide urgent relief today while supporting long-term recovery for families who have lost almost everything. Stand with Sudan. Deliver aid. Restore dignity.

Zakat-ul-Fitr is another form of compulsory charity that every able Muslim must give. It is separate from the Zakat payment and is given before Eid al-Fitr begins. This type of Zakat donation can powerfully serve those in desperate need. Those who don’t have the means to live comfortably across the world tend to miss out on the Eid celebrations that most Muslims get to enjoy. Every day is a struggle to find food and resources to live, so when Eid comes along, it isn’t a special day for them like it is for most Muslims. You can serve the essential needs of those facing hardship, restore their dignity and allow struggling families to partake in this joyous occasion.
