40% of children under the age of 5 in Pakistan are stunted according to the UN World Food Program, and of those, 11% are severely malnourished. Similarly, 20% of the general population faces hunger on a daily basis. HOPE USA's 2025 Door-to-Door Iftar campaign amps up our regular efforts to combat food insecurity in Pakistan by going the extra mile to deliver hot meals to underserved families in Ramadan. This month, we will be making an extra effort to provide meals to 10,000 underprivileged people in remote villages and urban slum neighborhoods throughout Pakistan. 70% of the recipients will be vulnerable children who are in need of nutrition and sustenance.
For just $1/Person/Meal, you may take part in this Zakat-eligible effort. Any contribution is welcome and will go towards the purchase and distribution of door-to-door iftars for vulnerable people (and especially children) living in dire conditions of poverty.
Much gratitude from our entire team for helping make Ramadan 2025 brighter for all.
This Ramadan, Run Towards Your Banquet of Blessings
With Warm Wishes from,
The Entire HOPE Team
HOPE Charities USA is a volunteer-based nonprofit 501(c)(3) charitable organization working to better the socioeconomic forefront of impoverished citizens in Pakistan. Estimates of poverty in Pakistan range anywhere from 25 percent to almost 40 percent. Health indicators suggest that it is the lack of accessible healthcare — not terrorism, drones or the energy crisis — that is the greatest adversity facing Pakistan. Additionally, in a country where 60 percent of youth are illiterate and only 1 in 3 women can read and write, education becomes a scarce commodity which inhibits freedom from poverty. HOPE USA’s mission is to end poverty in Pakistan through a calculated, multi-pronged interventional approach which focuses on Healthcare, Education, Vocational Training, Clean Water, and Disaster Relief.
Currently, HOPE has a countrywide presence throughout Pakistan which includes 4 Hospitals, 3 Formal Schools, 200 Informal Schools, 6 Vocational Centers, 1 Basic Health Clinic, 2 Mobile Health units, and 6 Maternal and Child Health Clinics. Altogether we have grown to a network of hospitals and schools that treats over 750,000 patients per year, educates 12,000 students annually, and provides income-generating skills to over 2,000 young adults yearly; 70 percent of our beneficiaries are women and children.
All of HOPE USA’s health, education, and vocational training facilities provide free/nominal cost services to the impoverished. Additionally, HOPE has been on the frontlines of every emergency relief effort that has impacted Pakistan, from the 2005 Kashmir earthquake to the current 2022 catastrophic flooding crisis. Our emergency relief efforts have generated aid to over 100,000 victims of natural disasters over the years and we have established 120 hand pumps in remote and rural areas to provide clean water to 120,000 people total.
As a nonprofit organization, HOPE USA has an outstanding record of performance. With almost 15 years of experience, we are currently at the stage where we are a small organization with tremendous impact potential. Major corporations/governments have vetted us and trust our work. Some recent grantors include Procter & Gamble, Paypal, Target Corporation, US Aid, Unicef, and the Centers for Disease Control. Additionally, HOPE USA has received corporate matches from Cisco, Microsoft, Salesforce, Oracle, Facebook, Linked In, Adobe, Paypal, Mastercard, and Dreyers. We are a volunteer-run 501(c)(3) boasting some of the lowest overhead rates one will see in the nonprofit realm (less than 3 percent). In 2021 we were awarded a medal by Pakistan President Arif Alvi for our poverty alleviation model in Pakistan – we were 1 of just 2 organizations to receive this honor. We are also the only authorized distributer of Procter & Gamble PuR water sachets in Pakistan which become critical during times of natural disasters such as the current flooding crisis.
“No matter how dire the current situation in Pakistan, or the obstacles we face in the future – there is always hope.” ~ Dr. Mubina Agboatwalla, Founder of HOPE USA

Wishing All a Peaceful and Joyous Eid ul Fitr - Featuring HOPE Zia Colony Formal School Children and Karachi Public School Students!
Dear HOPE Friends,
Wishing All a Peaceful and Joyous Eid ul Fitr - Featuring HOPE Zia Colony Formal School Children and Karachi Public School Students!
As yet another month of Ramadan has slipped into the memory books, the entire HOPE Team along with our beneficiaries would like to thank all our supporters for their gracious contributions over the years. We have reached so many milestones along the way and transformed so many lives, all through your backing.
This year, Karachi Public School students teamed up with HOPE's Zia Colony Formal School children to create and exchange memories that we would like to share with our supporters. Karachi Public School students visited HOPE schoolchildren and engaged in day-long activities which included mentorship, arts and crafts, and homemade Eid cards.
HOPE's Zia Colony Formal School children thoroughly cherished this special visit by Karachi Public School students! We are beyond humbled that our students were able to spend quality time with mentors and role models. The students are so thankful for the Eid gifts and the Eid card creation activity! This occasion is a memory they will hold close and we look forward to future visits and opportunities to grow together.
Wishing all our supporters a blessed and fulfilling Eid ul Fitr. We hope you love the Eid cards by the children.
Warm regards,
The HOPE UK, HOPE USA, and HOPE Pakistan Teams
Bidding Ramadan 2025 Farewell from Azad Kashmir - Featuring KIREA's Bani Langrial Home School Children
Dear HOPE Friends,
Bidding Ramadan 2025 Farewell from Azad Kashmir - Featuring KIREA's Bani Langrial Home School Children
As another Ramadan has gone by, we wish all our supporters the best for their generosity and empathy. Bidding you farewell are an array of our Home School children iin Azad Kashmir. These children live in high altitudes and remote terrain that is difficult to access even under normal circumstances. Despite this, our Field Team made sure to take extra measures to make sure that these children are able to partake in the blessings of Ramadan, as their everyday lives are already replete with sacrifices.
Featured in this post are children from KIREA's Home School in Bani Langrial (and extremely impoverished and underserved mountain village that is difficult to access) along with children from HOPE's Home School in Habib Dori.
You May Still Partake in Our Ramadan Efforts:
We are so appreciative of KIREA for taking on the Bani Langrial project! This Home School effort is already showing tremendous promise for these children.
Much gratitude to all our supporters for helping us reach the underprivileged during Ramadan 2025!
We're Rushing to Reach the Needy During This Blessed Month....and You Can, Too!
Dear HOPE Friends,
We're Rushing to Reach the Needy During This Blessed Month....and You Can, Too!
As this blessed month of Ramadan trickles to a close, our Field Team is working overtime to amplify the spiritual rewards of charity for our supporters. In an Islamic country such as Pakistan, Eid is celebrated with great fervor and enthusiasm. When one is faced with the harshness of poverty on a daily basis, on special holidays such as Eid, this burden can feel even more overwhelming. This is why our Field Team goes the extra mile to try to bring some relief to the lives of the underprivileged. The smiles and happiness on the children's faces is more than we could have ever hoped.
These pictures are of our recent outreach efforts in Rehri Goth, Cattle Colony, and Mujahid Colony, three urban slum districts within Karachi, Pakistan.
It's Not Too Late to Participate in Our Ramadan Efforts:
All the best prayers to all during these blessed days.

HOPE Champions Zia Colony Residents - Inner City Comes to Life Before Eid, Plus Iffco Ghee
Dear HOPE Friends,
HOPE Champions Zia Colony Residents - Inner City Comes to Life Before Eid, Plus Iffco Ghee
Zia Colony is an urban slum district within the Karachi metropolitan area that has been steeped in poverty for decades. Approximately 25 years ago, HOPE began taking concrete steps to introduce basic Healthcare, Education, and Vocational Training to the residents of this inner city neighborhood. Today, children of Zia Colony have a bright future ahead of them, thanks to HOPE's interventional efforts and the generosity of our supporters.
We would also like to take the opportunity to highlight our corporate supporter, Iffco - as one can see in the pictures, Iffco has been silently working behind the scenes this Ramadan to pitch in for a variety of our efforts including the Grand Iftar for 1,000 Underprivileged Students in Karachi and the distribution of ghee with Food Rations. We are tremendously grateful for their humility and support.
The attached pictures show our Field Team's outreach efforts in Zia Colony before the end of Ramadan 2025.

HOPE Rushes in to Serve Rural Villages with Food Rations, Door-to-Door Iftars, and Eid Clothes Before the End of Ramadan
HOPE Rushes in to Serve Rural Villages with Food Rations, Door-to-Door Iftars, and Eid Clothes Before the End of Ramadan
Just in the nick of time for Eid ul Fitr, our Field Team is rushing to serve far-flung village areas in Pakistan. Since these areas are extremely impoverished, one can easily gauge the sheer happiness on the children's faces when they receive new Eid Clothes. Families here struggle in all aspects of basic needs, especially Food Security and Shelter. When children in remote village regions receive new Eid Clothes, it means the world to them because families in these areas cannot even dream of having such luxuries.
In our special 2025 Ramadan efforts, multiple village regions received Food Rations, Door-to-Door Iftars, and their children received new Eid Clothes. Featured in these pictures are Dhabeji and Link Road in rural Sindh.
HOPE has a growing presence in remote village areas throughout Pakistan with poverty intervention measures such as Healthcare, Education, Vocational Training, Food Security, Clean Water, and Disaster Relief, Ramadan Outreach, and Qurbani.

In Ramadan we accelerate our efforts in rural regions to reach those who need it most.
This Ramadan, we distributed Food Rations and Door-to-Door Iftars to over 40,000 people in underserved communities.

University Students from Chicago Pitch In to Sponsor Door-to-Door Iftars in the Northern Areas of Pakistan - Featuring Yusuf Foundation MCHCs
Dear HOPE Friends,
University Students from Chicago Pitch In to Sponsor Door-to-Door Iftars in the Northern Areas of Pakistan - Featuring Yusuf Foundation MCHCs
https://www.facebook.com/share/r/1KVktQy9zw/
This Ramadan, in a heartwarming gesture of support for the needy, a group of college students from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Depaul University, and College of Dupage banded together to form a collection for HOPE's Door-to-Door Iftars. Altogether, they were able to raise enough funds to provide meals for underserved children and adults at all four of Yusuf Foundation's Maternal and Child Health Centers in the Northern Areas of Pakistan.
Over the course of almost three decades, HOPE has been able to make tremendous strides with regards to mitigating the adversely high Maternal and Infant Mortality rates in Pakistan. By working at a grassroots level in underserved communities and providing free access to healthcare to mothers and babies, HOPE has been diligently and resourcefully taking advantage of the statistically-backed windows of opportunities to save lives.
Most recently, our efforts have been catapulted by the tremendous generosity of Yusuf Foundation - through Yusuf Foundation's backing, HOPE has been able to expand into the Northern Areas of Pakistan, remote village regions in which no health facilities previously existed for disadvantaged populations.
Over the course of the past three years, Yusuf Foundation has sponsored construction and operational costs of three MCHCs in the Northern Areas of Pakistan (Mansehra, KPK, Garhi Habibullah, KPK, and Muzaffargarh, Punjab) along with adopting a fourth MCHC in Azad Kashmir. Altogether, these facilities provide 24/7 no-cost healthcare to 200,000 villagers annually, 70% of whom are women and children.
By providing prenatal, postnatal, and infant/child healthcare during critical times, HOPE/Yusuf Foundation's MCHCs have been able to impact regions in which mothers traditionally gave birth in their own homes with no assistance - often with precarious consequences such as hemorrhaging or other severe labor complications. These MCHCs have had a transformative effect in their respective regions, especially with regards to enhancing Maternal and Infant health for these communities.
Featured in these pictures are the UIUC, Depaul, and COD students' contributions towards making a difference in the rugged terrain of the Northern Areas of Pakistan.
We would like to extend our appreciation to the Chicago students' for their initiative in making a difference this Ramadan. The HOPE Team was so touched by their gesture that we chose to dedicate their gift to the regions impacted by Yusuf Foundation's life-saving efforts.
Procter & Gamble Celebrates 20 Years of Clean Water Efforts and Highlights HOPE Founder, Dr. Mubina Agboatwalla as a South Asia Clean Water Champion
Dear HOPE Friends,
Procter & Gamble Celebrates 20 Years of Clean Water Efforts and Highlights HOPE Founder, Dr. Mubina Agboatwalla as a South Asia Clean Water Champion
Even before HOPE's longstanding partner in clean water efforts, Procter & Gamble, introduced its Children's Safe Drinking Water (CSDW) initiative 20 years ago, HOPE Founder, Dr. Mubina Agboatwalla, had been advocating for clean water in Pakistan, especially with regards to underserved communities who are more vulnerable to adverse health outcomes.
As a change proponent for the socioeconomic welfare of downtrodden communities in Pakistan, Dr. Mubina partnered with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in the early 2000s to conduct field studies and trials for improved health outcomes. Working alongside CDC researchers, Dr. Mubina rigorously tested and documented the effectiveness and safety of P&G's Purifier sachets. Her research was published in leading journals and used to provide the scientific foundation for P&G's CDSW Program.
Since then, P&G has joined hands with HOPE to provide over 50 million liters of P&G Purifier sachets to tens of thousands of children and families living in poverty throughout Pakistan. HOPE has been the sole authorized distributor of P&G's Purifier sachets in Pakistan, both via established routine clean water efforts and urgent natural disasters such as the 2005 Kashmir Earthquake and 2022 Pakistan Floods.
HOPE's partnership with P&G during the ravishing 2022 Pakistan Flood Crisis was transformative as 1/3 of the country was underwater and 33 million people were impacted. Polluted water is a breeding and transmission medium for various diseases such as malaria, diarrhea, and dengue fever, and the criticality of distributing clean water during natural disasters is a matter of saving lives. During our Disaster Relief Efforts following the 2022 Pakistan Floods alone, HOPE distributed 21 million liters of Purifier sachets to thousands of families in need, thanks to our partnership with P&G.
As P&G celebrates 20 years of advancing clean water efforts through CSDW, we are humbled to take part in their journey and milestones. Dr. Mubina's and HOPE's collaboration with P&G can be found here: https://csdw.org/partners/ .
Dr. Mubina expressed that "Clean water is more critical than ever," and she looks forward to helping the CSDW Program reach the 25-billion-liter milestone in 2025.
Much gratitude to P&G for recognizing the efforts of Dr. Mubina and HOPE in uplifting marginalized communities throughout Pakistan and promoting clean water efforts throughout the country.
Warm regards,
The HOPE USA, HOPE UK, and HOPE Pakistan Teams

Pakistan Radio 105's Shireen Akhtar Features HOPE Physicians Dr. Rehana, Dr. Abida, and Dr. Shagufta for International Women's Day
Dear HOPE Friends,
Pakistan Radio 105's Shireen Akhtar Features HOPE Physicians Dr. Rehana, Dr. Abida, and Dr. Shagufta for International Women's Day
https://youtu.be/fzdqr6FHkaI
On March 4, 2025, Pakistan Radio 105 Host Shireen Akhtar interviewed Dr. Rehana Yasmeen and Dr. Shagufta Khan, both loyal HOPE physicians who have dedicated their careers to bringing healthcare to the most downtrodden urban slum neighborhoods in Karachi, Pakistan. Unfortunately, Dr. Abida Raza was unable to attend this event due to emergency cataract surgery, however we wish to include her contributions as she is a vital component of our team.
In a recent podcast, Ms. Akhtar featured HOPE's very own Dr. Rehana and Dr. Shagufta as part of Radio 105's effort to celebrate the achievements of women. In a male-dominated country such as Pakistan, the contributions of women can often be overlooked or diminished due to the biases of media narratives or cultural traditions. And more often than not, opportunities for women to rise above and leave behind a fulfilling legacy are significantly hampered as compared to their male counterparts.
At HOPE, we are proud of the fact that our most dynamic leaders are women, and that the poverty alleviation work centers on uplifting women and children and recognizing their potential. In fact, HOPE was founded in 1997 by Dr. Mubina Agboatwalla, then a medical student at DOW University in Karachi Pakistan. 28 years ago, what began as humble dream to bring healthcare to marginalized communities Pakistan has transformed into a nationwide movement encompassing a broad array of tried and true poverty alleviation avenues: Healthcare, Education, Vocational Training, Clean Water, Food Security, Disaster Relief, Ramadan Outreach, and Qurbani.
Amongst our cherished medical staff are Dr. Rehana Yaseen, Dr. Abida Raza, and Dr. Shagufta Khan. For this interview, Dr. Shagufta filled in for Dr. Abida who was not able to attend due to emergency cataract surgery:
We are excited and humbled that Ms. Akhtar featured a couple of HOPE's formidable female forces to be featured on Radio 105's interview for International Women's Day. The most heartwarming aspect of Dr. Rehana, Dr. Abida, and Dr. Shagufta's careers is that they have especially dedicated their expertise to helping those who have no voice. By providing quality healthcare to the needy and treating them with dignity and respect, they are directly working on the ground to break the tenacious cycle of poverty. HOPE is honored to have them as part of our loyal team which has banded together for decades to bring a vision to life.
We hope you will join us in commemorating the achievements of Dr. Rehana, Dr. Abida, and Dr. Shagufta along with Radio 105's, Ms. Akhtar.
Much gratitude to Radio 105 for their gracious appreciation of HOPE's efforts to help the needy.
Warm regards,
The HOPE USA, HOPE UK, and HOPE Pakistan Teams
