For Ramadan 2022, Sense Islam has teamed up with Charity Right (registered charity no: 1163944). Your donations will help provide daily school meals for children who live in some of the poorest areas around the world.   

The money we will raise will allow children to concentrate on their studies by providing them with nutritious meals, bringing them a step closer to achieving their dreams.   

It is reported that 2.3 million children die from malnutrition every year. 

Together, we can help put an end to this. 

Education is the real key to solving world hunger and breaking the poverty cycle. Thousands of families can’t send their children to school, relying on them to work just to afford food. Instead of learning to read and write in the safe confines of a classroom, millions of children brave danger on the streets to earn whatever money they can. 

When Charity Right offers school meals, parents are able to send their children to school. There they find a place to be happy and healthy as they receive an education that will change their lives and the lives of their community. 

This project is Zakat eligible and tax deductible verified!

Charity Right projects!  

Malawi  

We provide meals to children studying in Madrassah's in the Mangochi district in Malawi, where the poverty rate is at a staggering 73%. Charity Right provides school meals in Malawian primary and secondary schools to make sure that a lack of food no longer prevents Malawian kids from accessing quality education. We are here for the long term to help them break the poverty trap.   

Ethiopia  

We support children living in some of the poorest slum communities in Ethiopia where there is an urgent need to overcome food insecurity. Finding food is a day-to-day struggle. Many school children grow up in a poverty trap. Parents are unable to earn enough money to feed them properly and get their children an education. Charity Right has provided over 3,000 meals to children across 5 schools.  

Sudan  

Around 100,000 Eritrean refugees live in refugee camps in Sudan. The majority of these refugees live in camps amid conditions that the UN once described as “intolerable”. Frequent drought increases malnutrition rates, and leaves no earning potential. For most children there, food is scarce and getting an education is remote. Our work in Sudan is vital in improving the health and futures of these children.  

Bangladesh  

In Bangladesh, millions of children suffer from malnutrition, who cannot develop to their full mental and physical potential because they do not have enough food. Charity Right provides meals every day to thousands of children living in the slums at Dhaka and Rohingya refugees at Cox Bazaar.  

Turkey  

Thousands of Uyghurs have fled their homeland from constant persecution in China's Xinjiang region, and now live in Turkey. Many of the Uyghurs are women and children who have left their families behind to seek security. We provide food cards, educational facilities and support to free them from the worry of where their next meal is coming from, so they can focus on rebuilding their lives.  

Yemen

The ongoing conflict in Yemen has severely affected children. Over 8 million children are unable to go to school and suffer from food insecurity and malnutrition. With no chance of education and never knowing where the next meal is coming from, they need help more than ever! We are launching our school meals programme in Yemen for the first time, offering regular nutritious meals to over 1,600 students.
