Help Cover Funeral Costs for Ramadhan Mohammed After Brutal Attack

Our brother, Ramadhan Mohammed, a Somali Bantu Muslim in Pittsburgh was killed after being violently beaten while on the job as a taxi driver. He was 31 years old with a baby on the way and a two-year-old son. He was always kind and easy going. Dedicated to his faith and to service, he volunteered every weekend as a Quran teacher. Ramadhan didn't have much and his family needs help paying for his funeral costs.

In the early morning hours of Tuesday, February 21, police found Ramadhan in a field left to die. He was in the hospital for 24 hours before he could be identified and even when his family was called to see him, they did not recognize the man that laid in front of them.

His assault follows a growing sense of fear and harassment by the Somali Bantu and Muslim community across the country. It takes a lot of rage and hate to leave someone the way they left him. Two suspects have been arrested, but we continue to urge the Pittsburgh police to pursue a full investigation until all of the facts are in.
