ROHINGYA ON FIRE: CHILDREN AND PEOPLE ARE IN NEED
News sources report at least 15 people have been killed in a massive fire that ripped through a Rohingya refugee camp in Bangladesh, with 400 who remain missing, 560 people injured and north of 50,000 people displaced. Relief efforts on the ground are relaying that the full extent of the damage may not be known for some time.
Many children still remain missing, and some reports state that people were unable to flee because of barbed wire set up in and around the camps.
Immediately, Our first responders are already on the ground distributing food kits and water to the families and the victims of the fire
In the medium term, we are dispatching a team of medical professionals to set up camp and attend to the victims of the fire to provide them the medical care they need. Our team and volunteers will be able to provide medical aid and services to 100 people a day.
In the long term, we need to provide the families with shelter while their homes are rebuilt. 55,000 people are now displaced due to the fire that ravaged through their homes.

The fire raged for over 10 hours, and ripped through the Balukhali camp near the southeastern town of Cox’s Bazar late on Monday, burning through thousands of huts as people scrambled to save their meagre possessions.
