WHY ACTION FOR HUMANITY/SYRIA RELIEF?
 

I am fundraising with Action for Humanity because they are one of the very few charities that are working with the Turkish government in this preserved part of Syria to build more than just homes, but a future for the Syrians. They also facilitate the delivery of charity for many other organisations such as Ummah Welfare Trust, Save the Children, CARE and others.

Insha Allah (God willing), I am aiming to travel there to help distribute aid and see how our donations will be spent, but I need to reach my goal to make this possible.

WHAT DO OUR DONATIONS CONTRIBUTE TO?

Action For Humanity is building 1000 homes through a large-scale and holistic residential project in Northern Syria. These 2-bedroom 37 metres squared concrete homes include all infrastructure and amenities i.e., electricity, sewage and drinking water etc. required for one family. The project has been implemented in an area of approximately 550,000 square metres for over 5000 homeless Syrian families. The village will also include establishments of a school, community centre, hospital, shopping centre and mosque for the residents. 
 

WHY THIS PROJECT?

By providing a home you are giving the families a starting point that will enable them to properly rebuild and thrive in their new communities. Along with the house, they will have access to drinking water...

‘The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was asked, “Which charity is best?” He replied, “[Providing] water”’. [Abu Dawud]

You will also protect families with vulnerable children from having to live in tents filled with bacteria, diseases and suffering from the cold weather.

And it is a great form of Sadaqah Jaariyah (continuous charity)...

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, ‘When a person dies, his deeds come to an end except for three: Sadaqah Jaariyah (continuous charity), or knowledge from which benefit is gained, or a righteous child who prays for him’. [Muslim]

The funds raised on this link will be for zakat cash distributions, shelter homes and food distributions (both staple items as well as hot food distributions). The funds will also be used for non food distributions such as rehabilitation kits for dilapidated tents and reinforcing informal camp sites until Zakat eligible families are moved to our village homes.

All the right holders we are supporting for Zakat have been assessed by our field teams and will be prioritised over other beneficiaries in terms of vulnerability criteria. This includes households with orphans, disabilities, and single breadwinner or women-led households.
