We personally wanted to reach out because this project is truly one in a million. There are so many incredible causes out there, but this one will make a real difference. There are literally no Islamic facilities within a 50 mile radius — the reward of sadaqah jaariyah here is immense.

You may have heard about our local brother Khalid Mallet, the first convert brother to be buried in the area. He had to have his ghusl in the hospital mortuary because there were no Muslim facilities available. Alhamdulillah, thanks to him, there’s now a Muslim section in the graveyard. But imagine if we had proper ghusl and shrouding services here? This masjid will provide that, in shaa Allah.

Pavement works have been completed, highway works are now done, and we plan to begin the foundation works within Ramadan ⏳—but we are at risk of stopping due to lack of funds. This cannot happen. We must keep the momentum going. Delays will not only disrupt the carefully planned construction timeline but could also drive costs higher. The Muslim community in the South Lake District is growing, yet the closest masjid is 50 miles away in Lancaster. Our children have no place to build their Islamic identity through a masjid or madrasa. They don’t even have ghusl, shrouding, or janaza facilities. This masjid will be a lifeline for generations to come. ⏳
