According to HIV.gov, 1.2 million people in the U.S. are living with HIV. 14 percent of them (1 in 7) don’t know it. The statistics are alarming and must be addressed.

Since 2012, Reaching All HIV+ Muslims in America (RAHMA) has served the Muslim community by providing up to date, accurate information on HIV and AIDS. As we know, HIV is a stigmatizing topic and many Muslims are often ostracized from their community and do not feel safe.

RAHMA has taken action and hosted retreats for HIV+ Muslims, led educational workshops in masjids across the US, trained youth to be peer educators and more. RAHMA is also the founder of National Faith HIV/AIDS Awareness Day. A federally recognized awareness day that brings together all faith communities to address HV stigma.
