What drives Latinos to embrace Islam?

Latino Muslims: Our Journeys to Islam is an attempt by Latino Muslims to answer this question through their own voices. This collection of heartfelt stories explores the struggles, discoveries, and revelations of Latinos before and after their conversion to Islam. The book's website is LatinoMuslims.net.

My name is Juan Galvan. I have been blessed to be the editor of this wonderful book.  I am a Mexican-American Latino who embraced Islam as a student at the University of Texas at Austin in June 2001. 

Because I want to educate people about the growing Latino Muslim community, I plan to give away books as thank you gifts for donations at varying giving levels. Gifts will be distributed after this campaign ends. The book is available on Amazon if you can't wait.

While giving a donation, you will see a place where you can leave me a note. This is where you will provide your mailing address OR that of someone you prefer your gift go to instead. You can even specify a mosque or Muslim organization if you prefer.

"Invite (all) to the Way of thy Lord with wisdom and beautiful preaching; and argue with them in ways that are best and most gracious: for thy Lord knoweth best, who have strayed from His Path, and who receive guidance." (Quran 16:125). 

I am seeking donations for the following initiatives.

Free book giveaways. I would love to give free, autographed books to anyone who requests them. Many non-Muslims are pleasantly surprised to learn about the growth of the Latino Muslim community. And, wouldn't it be an awesome addition to a mosque or prison library?

Book translations. I would like to focus on marketing in Latin America and Brazil. The book has already been translated to Portuguese and French. Spanish and German translations are in the works. Let's bring the stories of Latino Muslims to the hearts and minds of readers around the world.

Children's book. Help me produce a children's book based on one of the conversion stories. It would enable Muslim children to explore the diversity within Islam through a entertaining, third person narrative.

Audiobook. Wouldn't it be great? It would be sold on Audible, iTunes, etc. Audiobooks are convenient, save time, and inspire completion. You can listen while driving a car!

Facebook and Amazon ads. To let more people around the world know about the book. Wouldn't it be great to offer OUR JOURNEYS next to anti-Islam books on Amazon? 

Travel expenses. I would like to have funds to attend book signings and other events. It would be amazing if I could meet you in person one day.

"Those who spend their wealth [in Allah's way] by night and by day, secretly and publicly - they will have their reward with their Lord. And no fear will there be concerning them, nor will they grieve." (Quran 2:274).
