Man & Woman vs No Food: the BIG 5

In 2017, Alex Streeter took part in a Ramadhaan fast to raise funds for UKeff. 4 years later, he has continued to fundraise every year, raising 1000's of £££ of which 100% has been used on local projects to provide food and support to those who are in difficulty. The donations have literally turned the lives around of those who have been helped.

This year, Alex is going for the BIG 5 - that's right, we challenged him to fast for 5 continuous days in Ramadhaan and he eagerly accepted, telling us, "If it means we can help even more people this year, given that there are so many more people struggling as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, I will happily take up the challenge of 5 days."

A little about UKeff:

For some people, UKeff is a life-line at the lowest point in their lives, where other suport has been exhausted or non-existent. UKeff stand side-by-side with the vulnerable and oppressed in our community, offering hope and assistance to enable that person to move from dependence to independence. 

We are based in Oldham but our work covers all of Greater Manchester and beyond. Amongst those we help are those who are struggling financially, asylum seekers and refugees, domestic abuse victims, the homeless and those at risk of homelessness.

We campaign constantly to Keep Zakat Local - to fulfill the Sunnah of the Prophet, peace be upon him, and to care for our neighbours in need.
