Your support will allow our Centre to provide essential services to meet physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of: 

• Individuals with intellectual disabilities
• Caregivers
• Elderly Parents
• Families
• Those with other types of disabilities

The Sacrifice

During this holy month of Dhul-Hijjah, we remember the spiritual sacrifices of Prophet Ibrahim (as), his family and his submission to Allah (SWT).

We can draw parallels with the many caregivers DEEN strives to support. 

Sacrifice is a part of daily life for our caregivers.

• They are 24/7 on the job - throughout the life of their adult child.
• They can't imagine just going away for hajj or umrah

• They experience caregiver burnout, because there are no culturally appropriate respite services for their child.

• Financial hardship since the government does not provide the full support needed.
• As caregivers become seniors and frailer, their adult children with disabilities are also becoming heavier and harder to lift and, in some cases, more aggressive.
• Their mental, emotional and spiritual health is sometimes compromised because of lack of appropriate services.

We remember the story of Hajrah left in the barren land of Makkah running between Safa and Marwa desperately looking for water for baby Ismail (as).

It is a story of a mother doing her best for her child. 

Like many of our caregivers they are very committed in providing care to their loved ones, but they have a lot of needs themselves. It's a struggle no one talks about. And it begs the question — who is providing support for the caregivers? 

This is why we are reaching out to you. Help us at DEEN  to support them.

DEEN Support Services

We are a registered Canadian charity founded by Muslims with Disabilities.

DEEN operates a number of programs & services in Mississauga, Ottawa and Scarborough and serves all individuals with disabilities regardless of religion, language and culture. 

A community obligation.

No one else in the Muslim community is providing this service. Help us provide this fard ayn community obligation to the most vulnerable members of society.
