Due to COVID Pandemic & school closures, hundreds of our students who do not have internet access, mobile networks & electricity infrastructure are facing learning loss.

We need your help to take Radio Based Lessons to children facing lack of learning opportunities right now.

For most of our students in remote & isolated valleys, school provides a sense of routine. The absence of which, has left students confused & emotionally upset.

Pakistan has a secondary school drop out rate of 73%, one of the highest in the world. 

Due to this disengagement from learning many students might not come back to school post corona.

With your help, we can prevent this learning loss. 

We are adapting to the challenges to education posed by this pandemic. In partnernship with Rising Academies, an International Organization, we are taking high-quality curriculum content designed for delivery through radio, to our students.

This content spans 20 weeks with a focus on Literacy Development and is targeted for students of Primary to Secondary Levels.

We have been at work to Translate this content into Urdu, create audio recordings & broadcast content through local Radio Stations.

How you can help

With your support since 2016, we have been able to materialize our vision into a reality and supported children in 4 schools in some of the most remote & isolated mountain valleys in northern Pakistan.

This year, we need your support to make Radio Learning a possibility. Your funds will be directed to: 

1- Broadcast these lessons through Radio to continue engaging young learners through this period of lockdown. The broadcast will reach thousands of students in the Gilgit & Hunza region.

2- Prepare print material such as worksheets & workbooks as Activity Packs for our students to support the broadcast lessons.

3- Engage teachers in remote training opportunities to assist them in dealing with the situation when schools resume.

4- 10% of all funds will be used to support our student from the lowest income families who face a big challenge due to lack of any tourism this year (which is the primary source of income)

Our Past Work

Thousands of students in Pakistan who go to school everyday are not learning. They struggle to learn the basic skills of reading, writing & numeracy which defines their entire academic journey.

IEI Pakistan has been working since 2016 to provide access to quality education that supports holistic child development, to the remote and isolated valleys of northern Pakistan. 

Our mission is simple, we want to help close the educational gap and take learning opportunities to all children regardless of their geographical location or their financial standing.

Some highlights of our work since 2016

• Literacy Development Program for 4 schools in Misgar, Chipursan & Shimshal Valleys. 

• Digital Learning Application for Early Childhood Classroom in public school Shimshal along with Teacher Training to use it.

•  3 fully functional Libraries equipped with over 1500 books, designed using techniques of upcycling & recycling.

• 2 Computer Laboratories for students who had no access to computers.

• Teachers Training for 16+ teachers in remote public schools.

• Robotics & Programming Workshops for students in the remote Misgar Valley.

• Science Discovery Program - An Activity Based Science Program for students at public school Shimshal.

• Arts in Education to promote student well-being & social-emotional development.

• Recruitment of 40+ Volunteer Teachers.

• Re-painting of Schools 

• Electricity Connection provision for Public School Shimshal.
