FITRANA

Also known as Zakatul Fitr, this is obligatory act of charity that all Muslims must fulfil before Eid prayer latest. Please pay in advance during Ramadan so the aid gets to those in need for Eid day.

The Purpose? To ensure that those in difficulty are also included in the feast of Eid. Fitrana ensures that those who can give share the blessing of Eid with those less fortunate. 

Who Pays? Fitrana should be paid on behalf of everyone in the family, including elderly, children, servants etc. For example if there are 7 residents under 1 roof, then Fitrana needs to be paid for all 7 members of the family. 

How Much? Fitrana is £5 per person. Fitrana contributes towards providing a meal for the less fortunate on the day on Eid.

When does it need to be paid? As the purpose of Fitrana is to provide a meal for the less fortunate on the day of Eid - hence Fitrana should be paid before Eid prayer so that it can be delivered to those in need at the right time. 

Where? This year MATW will deliver your Fitrana in countries across the world such as Yemen, Palestine, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Somalia, Togo, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and more
