Clean water, straight to their homes, Sadiqah Jariah that never stops flowing

She is eight years old. She carries twenty kilos of dirty water on her head, many times a day.

We are Free Quran Education, we build clean water wells in Pakistan's ex-FATA tribal belt where almost no one else works. We've finished three. We're building 100 this year. $50 gives one family clean water for life, and $1700 builds an entire hand pump with your name on it.

Here's why it matters.

In Mirdadkhel, a school morning starts on a mountain. Girls, some eight, nine years old walk more than three kilometers across broken rock to reach water, for water you would not wash your hands in, then lift a container heavier than they are onto their heads and carry it home. Twice a day, every day.

Ask them about it and they'll mention the pain in their necks and backs the way you'd mention the weather. It isn't a complaint. It's just what a body feels here.

And the water is cloudy and insect ridden. It's what their little brothers and sisters drink. School waits, you cannot learn to read on a day already spent surviving.

In Chinara, the well itself takes the skin off their hands.

Two kilometers over rugged mountain ground, the girls of Chinara reach the only water their village has: one open well, thick with insects, debris and waste.

There's no pump. They lower a rubber fetcher on a cheap cord and pull it up hand over hand and the cord scrapes their palms raw as it comes. Small hands, wearing through, every morning.

They know the water is filthy. They drink it anyway, cook with it, wash with it, because there is nothing else. Typhoid. Dysentery. Illness that returns and returns. And the wells are open pits women and children fall in, injured by the very thing keeping them alive.

Water exists in this region. It's just for sale.

Those with money buy it, trucked in at a price. For the wealthy this is an inconvenience solved with cash.

The poor can't buy their way out. They get the walk, the well, and the dirty glass. Clean water here has become a privilege of wealth, and thirst is the tax paid for being poor.

We're not asking you to imagine a well. We're asking you to build the fourth.

In Sadokhel there was no clean water at all — a broken pipe leaking into a shallow puddle, and beside that puddle, because that is how poverty works, the village waste dump. That puddle was the drinking water.

Today a child in Sadokhel walks a few steps into her own courtyard, turns a tap, and drinks.

Same village. Same children. The pump is in, the tank is up, the pipeline is laid, and a plaque on that wall carries the names of the families whose sadaqah paid for it.

Sadokhel — complete. Chinara — complete. Mirdadkhel — under construction now.

Choose which well you build.

Villages here don't all need the same thing. We survey every site and build what will last:

🌞 Solar submersible well — $7,500. Borehole, submersible pump, solar array, overhead tank, pipeline and tap stand into the village. The grid barely exists here and diesel costs money these families don't have. The sun is free — it runs for years with no fuel bill.

⚡ Electric submersible well — $4,800. Same system, mains-powered, where supply is reliable. This is what runs in Sadokhel today.

🔧 Hand pump — $1700. Sealed, safe, no electricity, for smaller scattered settlements.

Every well delivers water into the village — not to the next valley. A well a girl still has to walk to is not a solution.

$50 gives one family clean water for life. Here's the arithmetic.

 UnitsEachTotal
Solar submersible wells20$8,000$160,000
Electric submersible wells40$4,800$192,000
Hand pumps40$1700$68,000
100 water points  $420,000
Water quality testing + 1 year maintenance  $25,000
Site survey, drilling logistics, transport  $18,000
Full programme  $463,000

Location: Khyber District, ex-FATA, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. Each well serves 70–120 households — 400–600 people. 100 wells = over 10,000 people, permanently.

This campaign's goal funds the first 25 wells. Every stretch target we break builds more.

What we send you after your well is built.

Fund an entire well at any level, and we commit in writing to send you:

  1. Photographs of the completed installation — the borehole, the tank, the taps running
  2. Video of the water flowing on the day it's switched on
  3. A photograph of the plaque carrying your name, or the name of whoever you dedicated it to
  4. The water quality test result for that well
  5. The GPS location and village name, so you know exactly where your sadaqah stands

We have done this for every donor of every well we've built so far. Ask any of them.

🤲 A well is the one charity that keeps giving after you're gone.

"The best charity is giving water to drink." — Prophet Muhammad ﷺ

A well is the truest sadaqah jariyah. It doesn't stop when you stop. Every cup drunk, every morning a girl spends in school instead of on a mountain path, keeps being written to your name for years.

Give it in your name or for someone you've lost. Dedicate a well to your mother, your father, a child. Isaal-e-sawab: reward reaching them with every drop, every day, for as long as the water runs.

Who we are, and why you can trust us with the next 21.

Project Sabeel is run by Free Quran Education (FQE) with the Care Foundation.

FQE is a global Islamic education network reaching over 10 million subscribers, with 40+ scholars producing content in 70+ languages. Care Foundation has worked for years across Pakistan's most underserved communities in education, healthcare and clean water.

We work the ex-FATA tribal belt because almost nobody else will. We know these villages by name, our teams are on the ground, and we go back. Every completed project is photographed, water-tested, and plaqued with its donors' names.

Three wells finished and flowing. That's our record, and it's the only reason we're asking you to trust us with the rest.

Ninety-seven villages are still walking. Start with one.

Right now, this morning, an eight-year-old is on that path with an empty container.

$50 ends one family's walk forever. $1700 builds an entire hand pump with your name on it.

Give today and send this to one person who would want to give too. The Prophet ﷺ said whoever guides someone to goodness earns the reward of the one who did it.

Our campaign has been vetted and officially Zakat-verified by LaunchGood. Funds are strictly allocated to eligible recipients in the tribal villages.
