After a long hiatus and the global pandemic leaving the entire world with an unfamiliar sight, it is time for us to come together and grow stronger as an Ummah. 
Serving Islam Team (SIT) is bringing back the largest Islamic convention in Hong Kong, "At The Peak" (ATP). A two-day transformative journey of strengthening your Imaan, delving into the profound theme of Healing Hearts, and exploring how the teachings of Islam can mend and uplift our souls in the face of life's challenges, In sha Allah. 

We have invited well-known speakers from all over the world, including Mufti Ismail Menk, Br. Wael Ibrahim, Dr. Muhammad Salah, and Sh. Hussain Yee to lead insightful discussions on various topics relating to the theme.

How Can You Help?
Massive support is needed to execute a convention at such a scale.

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "When a man dies, his deeds come to an end except for three things: Sadaqah Jariyah (ceaseless charity); a knowledge which is beneficial, or a virtuous descendant who prays for him (for the deceased)." [Muslim].

ATP has inspired over 2500+ people since 2013, and apart from spreading knowledge, it is a great platform for Muslims from different walks of life to connect with one another as well as for non-Muslims to gain better understanding of Islam and Muslims in a safe, inclusive environment.

Do you know ATP is 100% volunteer-driven initiative? 
Our SIT team consists of a group of passionate individuals; students, young adults as well as professionals who not only extend their time from their busy schedule but also offering their skillset and financial support for our annual ATP convention as well as other curated programs under our main Serving Islam Team HK brand.  For instance in 2018, our team contributed more than one-seventh of the total cost of running ATP and endless hours from planning, preparation, media postings/publications and more. Other than ATP, SIT is also active all year round organizing various community, enrichment and outreach programs.

Outcome

Muslims in Hong Kong and neighboring countries look forward to our ATP conventions due to the word of mouth on the spiritual boost that is felt by the participants from this two days event. Every year, we challenge ourselves to come up with relatable themes that will bring about most  beneficial impact to the Ummah. For instance in 2019, Our theme was Taboos where we discussed the challenges that is happening in the society such as mental health, pornography addictions, domestic violence as well as the growing trend of born-Muslims leaving their faith. 

Though we dream to have such conventions in a more regular basis, we are currently confined to have it once a year, given the high-level of cost and event planning required in executing an event at such a scale. We strongly believe that such conventions are critical for the imaan of the Muslims in Hong Kong, who experience a boost after going through 2 days of imaan refreshing lectures. However, due to limited resources, we are confined to make it once a year and maintaining high prices for the tickets to recover the costs. It is normally observed, through the feedback and comments of the people, that they yearn for such scholars to visit Hong Kong. This convention helps Muslims rejuvenate their faith and stay linked to the Muslim community in Hong Kong. Therefore, At The Peak Islamic Convention has become a necessary element of the curriculum of Islamic activities in Hong Kong convincing us to make it a reality every year.
