The deadly monsoon rains and floods in Pakistan have affected more than 33 million people, mostly in the hard to reach rural areas of the country. The loss of 1100+ precious lives is continuing and the spread of waterborne diseases is claiming the lives of the affected population. 888 health facilities have been damaged in the country, of which 180 of them are completely damaged. The lives of displaced pregnant women and newborn children are the most at risk due to the lack of healthcare facilities. More than half million pregnant women & newborns among flood-hit are in dire need of care.
 

Baitussalam Welfare Trust in Pakistan is among the leading charity organizations and partners of Baitussalam USA, that have already provided emergency relief supplies worth more than PKR400 million to more than 200,000 affected people. The relief support includes family tents, cooked food, food packages, mosquito nets, repellants, drinking water, water filters, garments, medicines, as well as out-patient care. Baitussalam is also providing rehabilitation of damaged and destroyed homes of Zakat eligible widows and impoverished families with elderly, disabled, and orphans. 

One of the critical unmet needs in the flood affected areas is the lack of secondary and tertiary level healthcare facilities in the flood affected areas. In particular, there is an imminent need to provide Emergency Obstetric and Neonatal Care (EmONC) to save thousands of innocent lives. For this reason, Baitussalam USA is aiming to provide a Mobile Hospital Unit to Baitussalam Welfare Trust in Pakistan and enable them to become life savers.
