HELP US ESTABLISH AN ISLAMIC SCHOOL IN TOKYO, JAPAN

Assalamu Alaykum.

Let us explain WHY WE NEED AN ISLAMIC EDUCATION IN JAPAN.

Islam is completely a way of life. The Sahaba (Companions) and the past Muslims prioritized the knowledge of Islam first before worldly knowledge.

Present day students are much focusing on job-oriented education completely avoiding Quran or Islamic Education.

A balance of worldly and Islamic educations is required in order to compete with the present world.

Due to a lack of Islamic education in Japan, it seems we have lost 2nd generations of Muslims in terms of "Islamic knowledge and values".

The Muslims residing in Japan have witness this crisis, and so local volunteers established International Islamia School Otsuka (IISO) in Tokyo by tawakkal to Allah without any capital start with. The purpose of the school is not business. It is for Waqf (for charitable cause).

We felt that it is our responsibility to safeguard the future Muslim children living in Japan.

“I have got married to a Japanese and Alhamdulillah Allah has blessed me with two children. I was so ashamed to see my children not accepting my values and refuse to pray or fast. I felt so depressed that time until I come to know about IISO. I moved them to IISO. Alhamdulillah, now they are good practicing Muslims with many Muslim friends around them” – Mother of a student at IISO.

WHO WE ARE

Japan Islamic Trust (JIT), one of the active religious organizations in Japan has been helping and serving the Muslim community in Japan for a few decades. JIT conducts many activities as below:

INTRODUCTION OF IISO

JIT established International Islamia School Otsuka (IISO) with 6 children in 2017.

Now 120 students are studying at IISO (Kindergarden, Primary and Junior High) and this number is expected to increase more in near 5 years.

IISO HAS ISLAMIC & MODERN EDUCATION SYSTEM

Cambridge Curriculum:

Cambridge is known internationally for providing globalized education of quality. IISO teaches a major part of the curriculum set by Cambridge in the primary Grade (1–5). 

Computer and Robotics Studies:

IISO also has designed curriculum “ICT by Cambridge” and “Robotics”, which is a new edition based on practical solutions to teaching youngsters to use technology responsibly.

Islamic Curriculum:

At IISO, Islamic studies are compulsory for children of all ages. The curriculum is designed by ICO, which is one of the leading and specialized organizations in providing Arabic and Islamic curricula and other related books. Along with the ICO curricula, IISO has complied original material which consists of Daily Duwas, Prayers, Hadith with practical implementation through various fun learning activities. IISO also teaches Quran and Prophetic teachings. For more information about ICO please visit their website. 

Japanese Language Curriculum: 

At IISO, we also teach the Japanese language by native Japanese teachers, where the contents including Kanji are directly adopted from regular Japanese primary school textbooks.

​5 YEARS WITHOUT A SCHOOL BUILDING

IISO did not have its own building and it used to rent 2 floors at the heart of Tokyo with expensive rent fee. Since the number of students increased and the Islamic School became a popular in Tokyo, IISO had to purchase its own building to accommodate the students.  

Alhamdullilah, the building is found – Nakano Building close to Otsuka Mosque.

THE PROBLEM IS THERE IS NO ENOUGH FUND TO ACQUIRE THIS BUILDING.

The cost for the building is $2,717,930. We have already paid about 44% ($1,207,969) of the building cost. We have to pay the remaining amount 54% ($1,460,692) by August 2022.

IISO Fundraising Plan Details

It's the responsibility of the whole Muslim Ummah to make efforts to save the Muslim Community of Japan.

"Whoever gives a good loan to Allah, may Allah multiply that loan for him" 

(Al-Baqarah 245)
