Step into a world of spiritual imagination, and find your community.

More than a universe of books and games, Tales of Khayaal is a movement connecting like-hearted souls through faith, fantasy, and deep storytelling.

Islam-Inspired Book Series, Card Game System & Collectibles

The team behind Tales of Khayaal invites you to join a growing community of like-hearted Khayaalis in the next phase of our journey.

"For several years, we’ve been building a fictional sci-fi/fantasy world inspired by deep Islamic spiritual concepts and global Muslim cultures," says Peter Gould (Co-Founder & Designer). "In a world digitally designed for distraction, our vision is to publish heart-centred stories and games that are spiritually grounded—helping people reconnect with what truly matters, including community."

From across the planet, the response from everyone who encounters Tales of Khayaal has been overwhelmingly warm. We created this project to fill a meaningful gap: delivering rich, thoughtful, and captivating popular culture, through books, games, and merchandise, that allows people in an increasingly disconnected world to bond over shared faith, art, and imagination.

"The response to Book One was phenomenal," shares Rehan Khan (Co-Founder & Author). "I’m delighted with the feedback from early test-readers for Book Two. We dive deeper into Alifa and Zorar’s journey alongside a vibrant cast of characters, just as the forces of antagonism intensify and the pressure mounts."

Book One (New Art) & Book Two

We are thrilled to announce that Tales of Khayaal: Book One has been reimagined with a stunning new jacket cover and a fresh set of interior illustrations, bringing its world to life with even greater visual depth. Alongside this beautiful new edition, we are equally excited to launch Book Two in the series. This next instalment expands the universe, deepens the stakes for our characters, and invites both returning readers and newcomers into the next stage of our overarching adventure.

Book One: Back Cover Copy

Set in the third epoch of the planet Ikleel, the arrival of a comet signifies the approach of the Final Standing, an apocalyptic end time when an ancient enemy of humanity, Mörtan, is set to return.

Zorar and his apprentice Alifa, both Grand Conduits of Nur, urgently prepare for the coming time along with other Nurani Conduits. Meanwhile, Arön, their home, has fallen under the control of the Syndicate, a sinister organisation seeking to plunder centuries of imperial wealth.

Cataclysmic events, a fracturing of society, a loss of what was sacred, will all beg the question - what does it mean to be human in a time of relentless techno-scientific change?

Book Two: Back Cover Copy

As the ages turn, spirituality grows distant. Truths formerly known become inaccessible. Though divine certainty is never lost, it is obscured by veils, hidden beneath shadows.

Urua has fallen.

The magisterial city lies shattered under the iron heel of the Syndicate and their Zandal enforcers. Once a humble medical assistant, Alifa now bears the astonishing mantle of a Grand Conduit. Thrust on to the frontlines of a desperate resistance led by Zorar, she must regroup with other Conduits to survive the coming storm.

Yet a greater threat stirs in the darkness of the Isthmus.

The enigmatic Custodians have emerged, unveiling an ancient truth: the primordial Vessels of Nur are real and can be found. As the Syndicate’s web suffocates the Aron empire, Alifa, Zorar and their allies must race against the forces of Dhulm to claim these forgotten relics.

Time has run out. The Harbingers have appeared, whispering the arrival of Mörtan - the Corroder of Hearts. And this time his shadow will leave nowhere to hide.

Process

At the core of Tales of Khayaal is a deep commitment to heart-centred, human-led creative work. Every story, card illustration, and piece of lore is born from real human experience, spiritual devotion, and years of dedicated craftsmanship. We choose not to use AI in our creative process—believing that true resonance comes only when art flows directly from one human heart to another. When you hold these books and cards, you are holding the result of genuine passion, intention, and artistic care.

Community of Players: Introducing Khayaal Cards & TTRPG

We are also thrilled to announce the launch of Khayaal Cards—a stylish, elegantly crafted game system designed for multiple ways to play:

• Family & Quick Play: A simple mode for younger players that can be learned in under a minute—the perfect, engaging alternative to screen time.
• Tactical & Advanced Play: Scalable modes ranging from beginner to advanced gameplay for tabletop enthusiasts, strategy fans, and collectors.
• Immersive Lore & RPGs: Story-driven scenarios woven into the deck, paving the way for an upcoming Tabletop Role-Playing Game (TTRPG) set in the world of Khayaal.

The journey doesn't end on tabletop. The cards and lore will continue to expand right to your doorstep through physical releases planned for launch in 2027.
