Join us in supporting Dar-As-Salaam School in Mauritania. We are looking to repair the dormitory buildings and rooms the students currently live in and build one new dormitory for the students. We are looking to raise $16,500 for maintenance & repair of the old buildings, masjid, and the construction of one new building and bathrooms.

Dar-Us-Salaam School houses roughly 120 students that attend year round through 7 dormitory buildings with 21 rooms total. The buildings are between 8 and 20 years old and have varying degrees of wear and tear. Some have even become unsafe for living. The walls, pillars, and ceilings have cracking and in some areas, they have crumbled down completely. They all also need to be repainted.Take a look below:

We also are looking to restore the interior of the masjid and it's fence.

In summary, we are looking to raise $16500 for the repair and restoration of the following:

1. 7 Student Dormitory Buildings
2. Masjid
3. Masjid Fence

Along with the new construction of the following:

1. 1 Student Dormitory Building - support 6-7 students
2. New Restrooms

Dar us Salaam Academy is one of the few schools left in the world preserving a traditional and holistic model of orthodox Sunni Islamic education.  It stands on the principle that much of the perversion of Islam seen today is due to the abandonment of this traditional model, in which texts were understood through the rigorous interpretations of highly qualified scholars and passed down through unbroken chains of narration (isnad).

Students at Dar us Salaam—through rote memorization supplemented by explanation from a trained and qualified teacher—study Aqeeda (Islamic Belief), Maliki Fiqh (Islamic Law),
Seerah (Biography of the Prophet - peace and blessings of Allah be upon him),
Quran, Tasawwuf (purification of the heart), as well as other
Islamic Sciences, including Logic and Grammar.
