We are collecting funds for TWO separate families that have been affected by the fire in Dearborn on November 28, 2019. The families had to be evacuated from a duplex that caught fire early Thursday morning at Berkshire Street and Wyoming Avenue in Dearborn.
Family #1- Sudani Refugee widow of 6 children immigrated from Egypt 3.5 years ago. The youngest daughter woke the mother up and the rest of her siblings and ran out as fast as they could. She and her kids have lost EVERYTHING!
Family #2-Pakistani Mom, Dad, and 5 children----their house caught fire from the duplex next door. They ran out with their five children barely making it out alive. They too have lost EVERYTHING!
There's not much to say at this point except that we as a community need to come together and help them rebuild. KBK Relief Foundation will be responsible for collecting monies for both families and will split it evenly amongst them.
It was related on the authority of Abu Hurairah, radiyallahu ‘anhu, that the Prophet, sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam, said:
“Whosoever relieves from a believer some grief pertaining to this world, Allah will relieve from him some grief pertaining to the Hereafter. Whosoever alleviates the difficulties of a needy person who cannot pay his debt, Allah will alleviate his difficulties in both this world and the Hereafter. Whosoever conceals the faults of a Muslim, Allah will conceal his faults in this world and the Hereafter. Allah will aid a servant (of His) so long as the servant aids his brother. Whosoever follows a path to seek knowledge therein, Allah will make easy for him a path to Paradise. No people gather together in one of the houses of Allah, reciting the Book of Allah and studying it among themselves, except that tranquility descends upon them, mercy covers them, the angels surround them, and Allah makes mention of them amongst those who are in His presence. Whosoever is slowed down by his deeds will not be hastened forward by his lineage.”

Alhamdulilah with the help of Allah first and foremost, then our amazing KBK community at large, we were able to secure ONE of the two families a new rental in East Dearborn.
The furniture was delivered today to their new home. We also took the family of 7 to Nice Price to purchase their basic houseware needs. At checkout, the owner of Nice Price wouldn't allow us to pay a penny and they walked out with all the items free of charge! May Allah reward him in tenfold and beyond!!!! A HUGE thanks goes out to Ahmed and Hassan @detroitfurniture for helping this family out. Thank you to the kindest soul we've ever met- Hajj Emo @amityfoundation who helped us out with paying for the furniture as well.
The mother and widow of these 6 orphans asked us to personally express the following message:
"My name is Mahasin Elhag. I want to thank everyone who helped me and my children. May Allah help you like you've helped me." Our community rocks. We are humbled and honored to be part of this amazing sadaqah opportunity. Jazaakum Allah alkhayr to each one of you individually.❤❤❤

New Home for Sudani widow and her 6 orphans
Alhamdulilah, with your generosity we were able to secure a new rental for the sudani family of 7. Using the funds we collected we will be able to pay her security deposit plus 3 months of rent. She and her family will move in the new home in Dearborn Tuesday morning. In addition, Detroit Furniture will help us furnish her new home completely. Jazaakum Allah alkhayr! More updates to come!
