What I'm Doing

Friends, my name is Ahmad Khatib and I've decided to collaborate with Penny Appeal USA and their Palestine programs in aid of ending cyclical poverty! My goal is to raise $7,000 towards planting Olive trees for Palestinians that will benefit such as farmers, women in local markets and families that rely on planted crops for sustenance!

How It Helps

As a source of livelihood, olive farming and production is crucial as 14% of the Palestinian economy is comprised of olive products such as oil, soap, pickles, etc.

Olive trees carry more than an economic significance in the lives of Palestinians. They are not just like any another trees, they are symbolic of Palestinians’ identity and attachment to their land, resistance and resilience.

Why I'm Doing This

By meeting my goal, you all are helping me participate in the Run for Palestine marathon in Bethelehem of March 2020! During this week, I'll be able to run the race that paves past the apartheid wall, distribute food parcels to Palestinian refugees, and visit Masjid Al Aqsa.
