Good words are like rain in a drought. For those of us living in non-Muslim countries, it is easy to feel spiritually dehydrated as we go about our lives. That is why since 2013, we at Serving Islam Team Hong Kong, have been holding our annual signature event “AT THE PEAK” (ATP), a two-day Islamic convention addressing pressing issues in the community. In the past years, it has developed into the largest Islamic Convention in Hong Kong.

Breaking the Silence in 2019

The theme for this year's convention is “TABOOS”. That’s right. We will be tackling head-on issues that are often side-stepped in Islamic conferences. We say struggles like domestic violence, drug abuse, porn addiction should no longer be swept under the carpet. We can’t afford turning a blind eye to the darkness that is eating up our community. With the help of knowledgeable scholars and speakers from across the world, we will bring these "unspoken struggles" into daylight. 
Since the first convention in 2013, “At The Peak” has been graced by the presence of knowledgeable scholars and speakers from Hong Kong and around the world.

ATP is the largest Islamic Convention in Hong Kong, attracting people from nearby regions. Apart from spreading beneficial knowledge, ATP is also the biggest platform for Muslims across ethnic backgrounds in Hong Kong to gather and learn from each other. 

ATP is a gift that keeps on giving. We have inspired 2500+ people since 2013 and the audience is growing.

What is “AT THE PEAK”?
Launched in April 2013, “At The Peak” is the only annual Islamic Convention in Hong Kong. Why is the convention called “At The Peak”? The Peak is one of the landmarks of Hong Kong and the highest point in town. The aim of the convention is to motivate the people of Hong Kong, Muslims and Non-Muslims alike, to reach their own individual peak of success in this world and in the Hereafter.

Apart from spreading beneficial knowledge, ATP is also the biggest platform for Muslims across ethnic backgrounds in Hong Kong to gather and learn from each other. Every year we invite artists to donate paintings and vendors to sell halal food, books and garments at ATP. While we grow our level of imaan, we grow our community at the same time.

In addition to local attendants, our audience is from all across East Asia Pacific regions including Taiwan, Mainland China, the Philippines and more.

OUTCOME

We strongly believe that such conventions are critical for the imaan of the Muslims in Hong Kong, who experience a boost after going through 2 days of imaan refreshing lectures. However, due to limited resources, we are confined to make it once a year and maintaining high prices for the tickets to recover the costs. It is normally observed, through the feedback and comments of the people, that they yearn for such scholars to visit Hong Kong. This convention helps Muslims rejuvenate their faith and stay linked to the Muslim community in Hong Kong. Therefore, At The Peak Islamic Convention has become a necessary element of the curriculum of Islamic activities in Hong Kong convincing us to make it a reality every year.
