The Problem of orphans and other vulnerable children

The very low level of education among the whole population of the community which has been attributed to the increasing number of orphans as a result of HIV and AIDS scourge  that has hit the villages for many years. Subsistence agriculture being the major way of livelihood has made it very difficult for the parents to send their children to school due to the increasing cost of education. The most affected and vulnerable category here is the orphans with no proper care and protection, no education, no food, no clothes and medical care. Worst, some of the children at years low as 14 are heading families taking responsibility of catering for the young ones as well as finding away for their education. In an attempt to do so, they end up meeting with young men and women to earn survival with money less than $1, coupled with HIV and AIDS. This has encouraged and increased on the rate of infections among the young population in Butebo District. The project is therefore initiated to target the orphans and the vulnerable children and to empower them by providing education to the bright ones and also empowering their guardians to carry out income generating activities that would further keep them even if the project ended.

Your donation will help meals (breakfast and lunch) to 320 orphans and vulnerable children at the orphanage.

Distribution of Scholastic Materials 

This program is to provide orphans and vulnerable children with books, pens, pencils, schools bags, shoes, school uniform and also teaching materials like text books, Qur'an, chalk among others

Sahl ibn Sa’d reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Myself and the caretaker of an orphan will be in Paradise like this,” and he held his two fingers together.
