Give Hope and Health to the People of Puerto Rico

The Vitamin Project, Inc., a 501c3 health nonprofit, is collaborating with the nonprofit, the National Puerto Rican Leadership Council (NPRLC), for Operation OASIS to bring sustainable clean water supply to the people of Puerto Rico in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria by sponsoring a water purification system for one of the many municipalities of the island in desperate need.

Did you know that nearly a month after the hurricane hit, the people of Puerto Rico are still without power and struggling to secure food and clean water? In many areas, people are standing in long lines just to procure clean water for their families to drink and bathe in. Though water services have been restored in many areas of the island, there are serious health concerns regarding the quality of water that people are consuming from contaminated streams and other sources. As of Oct. 12th, news sources reported that 4 people had died and 10 became sick from a bacteria illness spread through contact with infected animal urine that is carried via water or soil. There is growing concern about dirty water-related illness.

NPRLC aims to secure ONE water purification system per municipality for Puerto Rico's 78 municipalities and is looking for groups who want to sponsor a system for ~$4,000/unit. The Vitamin Project wants to be a part of this valiant effort to restore clean water sources to our friends and neighbors in Puerto Rico. Access to clean water is a basic need and right for everyone.  Puerto Rico needs our help! Will you help us raise $4,320 to sponsor one water purification system for PR?
