​Monday 14th Jan 2019: Target Balance to Complete £136,000

A unique opportunity has arisen, in the heart of Hounslow to purchase a Church and Community Hall, for the purposes of a Beacon Masjid. We are appealing for brothers, sisters and families to donate £1000 towards a Mussallah prayer space and reap an eternal reward Insha'Allah.

Since late 2017 the local Muslim community in Hounslow have been working towards the purchase of a new Masjid and community centre on Hounslow High Street. The old Jehovah Witness Church is a relatively new building and is ideally located in the centre of Hounslow and comprises excellent D1 community use facilities and fantastic transport links.

As many of you are aware the new Hounslow Muslim Centre exchange of contract was set for Friday 21st December 2018, due to our shortfall in funds we were unable to meet this deadline. As this process has been on-going for over a year, the implications could have been dire had it not been for the Mercy of the Almighty, after some intense and fraught negotiations the team have managed to secure a 4 week extension from the vendor.

Alhamdulillah, with nothing less than a miracle, we now have £1,339,850 in our dedicated HMC purchase account and there is approximately £25,000 in pledges outstanding from other generous donors. We are hopeful that this amount will be collected in the coming days.

This leaves us with an outstanding balance of circa £136,000. If we are unable to raise this figure by Monday the 21st of January 2019, the inconceivable consequence will be, that we lose this House of Allah (swt) and all the monies we have painstakingly collected will have to be returned to donors. Our exertions and intentions are purely for the pleasure and sake of Allah (swt), we firmly believe that this centre will be a place of outreach, shelter, education and sanctity for the local Muslim and non-Muslim community and future generations, as mentioned in the Qur’an these Masajid are erected by a divine edict, 'In Houses (Masajid), which Allah has ordered to be raised (to be cleaned, and to be honoured), in them His Name is glorified in the mornings and in the afternoons or the evenings' [Al Qur'an 24:36]

We are asking you our Brothers and Sisters to fulfil one of the following:
1) To make Du’a for this noble endeavour
2) To donate a £1000 Musallah (prayer mat)
3) To consider donating a Qard e Hasanah loan of £1000-£5000 for a 12 month period
4) To help us arrange a collection in your local Masjid
5) To help us spread this message

Our Vision

To establish a service-packed beacon Masjid and community hub, open to all. The Muslim community has been residing in the Hounslow borough for over 50 years.  The community in this area is poorly served by local institutions, in terms of religiously sensitive education, social and recreational projects. In particular, the local Muslim youth have been adversely affected by this lack of care and attention to their needs, with some falling prey to extreme voices and others straying from their faith altogether. There is a definite demand for an organised, established project which will address these issues and problems in a strategic manner.

We are all aware of love Allah (swt) has for the Houses where he is worshipped and for those who help build them, He reminds us in the Qur’an:

The Masajid of Allah shall be visited and maintained by such as who believe in Allah and the Last Day, who establish regular prayers and pay the zakat and fear none but Allah. It is they who are on the true guidance’ [Al-Qur'an 9:18]

The Prophet (pbuh), who said: 'Whosoever builds a house (Masjid) for the pleasure of Allah, whether it be small or large, Allah builds for them a house in paradise.' [Tirmidhi]
