Fasting during Ramadan allows Muslims to inevitably become more sympathetic to the plight of people that are forced to fast full-time-- including needy, homeless, and low-income communities within our society. COVID-19 has exacerbated conditions for these communities. The proliferation of the virus has caused rampant displacement, unemployment, and hunger. There is no better time to draw upon our Islamic tradition and fulfill one of its core tenets: to feed those in need.

During this COVID-19 era, federal stimulus checks may have been sent to those who do not need it. As we welcome the blessings of Ramadan and focus on our spiritual growth and health, we want to encourage you - if you can - to donate to those most in need. Some of us are fortunate to not need the entirety of our stimulus check, and we can afford to provide resources to those less fortunate. All funds raised will go to feed those in need in the United States.
