TO SAVE GAZA .

Salam alikom

Hello dear friends,

Wish YOU All  around the world   a very happy New year,

First, I want to thank you for the amazing things we did together; the happiness we brought to kids after their life was reduced to bleak ruins in Gaza, the dreams we made come true, and the life we re-plugged to colorless homes that were struck with despair and hopelessness. Together we stood for humanity, dug deep into our hearts and shared the blessings that life gave us with the isolated unheard poor.

Today I may ask you for another great favor, whose benefits will be everlasting.

Let us not suffice with aiding the poor timelessly. We should rather set them free from poverty, give them a push that would put them on the first step of the ladder of sustaining a living for themselves, and their surplus would go to help others in the same circumstances.

Kuzaa is a voiceless village in Gaza’s periphery. It is struck with unspeakable grieve and despair. Its people are far below the poverty line, and their unlivable conditions, not only deprive them from realizing their dreams, opportunities and chances in life, but it makes them more vulnerable to preventable death.

Yet, its people are clinging to life with every breath. Children fight the harshest weathers to get to school, while their parents struggle non-stop to put food on the table.

However, despite their determination for living, they remain trapped in a vicious circle of poverty and cannot break out of it on their own. They need our help, and they deserve sharing our blessings with them.

That is why I’ve decided to come out today and ask you to put our hands together and lift those people out of poverty. My approach is to fan the flames of creativity, and to spark a spirit of entrepreneurship in the village. Which I believe would have a multiplier effect to create sufficient levels of income where surplus will be used to generate more growth and create more projects exponentially.

The project:

My plan is to buy five sewing machines and put each of them in a different part of the village. We will target the most vulnerable groups in the village; widowed and divorced mothers.

I will also buy textile for the women who will create unbelievable beauties with their imagination and skills; from embroideries to school uniforms, to winter clothes and blankets, all would be produced locally.

I would then open an actual store in Gaza city and an online store for their productions, which I will supervise and direct personally with the help of marketing experts, so that we could sell it locally and ship it to the outside.

This way, we could provide many families with sustainable income, and create jobs for many young men and women.

Furthermore, 25% of our first two years profit will be used to expand the project and give more sewing machines to more people in the village. In addition, some of our productions will go to the village’s orphans.

Once the store stands on its feet and the business starts, generous donors and contributors to the campaign will receive gifts from our productions, and the campaign page will be turned into an online store, where buying our products will be a support of those families and a great help to expand the idea.

Most importantly, in the first two years of the project, 25% of the profit that we will make in that business will be invested in other projects with high potentials that will bring life back to the village; Organic farming, raising and breeding domestic animals, fish farming and others. Each of these newly created projects will be asked to run their businesses in the same way as the clothing store; pay it forward and create other projects, and thus the growth will be exponential.

Additionally, 10% of the money raised in the campaign will be immediately used to buy and give away blankets to poor people in the village, in order to shield them from the freezing winter.

Together we could develop one of Gaza’s most despairing village into a model of entrepreneurship, and trust me; the little we give means the world to those people.

Salam alikom

No one will understand wars until he survives one

I'm Walid Mahmoud, 34, resided in a small village in the Gaza Strip.

Life in the village was harsh, marked by many challanges,My village was famous for agriculture.

Over the past years, the Israeli occupation has been attacking the villagers.

During the past 196 days, like other parts of Gaza, they experienced moments of terror and fear,They tried to flee from one place to another to save their lives from constant bombing,They moved between United Nations schools and homes until they ended up in an escape camp, Living there is more than miserable due to a lack of basics.

As of writing this letter, the Israeli army spokesman has threatened to attack Rafah, He has also threatened to invade it.

It is the only city where over two million displaced people have sought refuge.

The Gaza Strip has no safe place, Israel has destroyed the infrastructure and turned the Strip into rubble,With your generous support, I will be able to save the lives of my 14 members, along with my nephews, I will help them go to Egypt through the crossing, They will stay there until the war ends, Then, they will return to rebuild their lives in the Gaza Strip.

Over the last 17 years, I dedicated my time documenting the daily lives of Gazans and assisting those in need, led many initiatives That made Gazans more resilient.

They included projects, like solar installations, to light dark hours.. It also included covering tuition fees for students in Gaza. And, giving out clothing during winter, Ramadan, and Eid.

Today, I am asking for your personal help to save my family.

We achieved 11% of the goal, I hope you will help me reach it before the occupation attacks and invades Rafah.

Walid,

love and peace to you All

let's hit the Goal

I am Walid Mahmoud from Gaza, and for the past 12 years I have been a tireless activist shining a light on the heartbreaking struggles of the Palestinian people. Nine years ago, horror struck my own home when it was mercilessly bombed. Now, amid the relentless onslaught of aggression on Gaza, my family's sanctuary has been ravaged once again. It was with a heavy heart that I made the agonising decision to evacuate my loved ones and seek refuge beyond the borders of this war-torn land.

My in-laws, seven vulnerable souls, now look to me as their sole provider and protector. The burden weighs heavily on my shoulders as I strive to protect them from the unrelenting chaos that surrounds us. They too have endured the agony of displacement, uprooted from their homes by the relentless tide of war. From makeshift shelters in UNRWA schools to meagre tents and the fleeting hospitality of relatives, their journey has been one of unrelenting grief and despair.

Tragically, their once beloved agricultural village near the border, Khuza'a, has been in ruins since it was completely destroyed in 2014. Despite our tireless efforts and sacrifices amidst the harsh economic realities of Gaza, the homes we had painstakingly rebuilt were cruelly torn apart again in 2023.

Now, as we face the daunting prospect of rebuilding shattered lives, we face an insurmountable obstacle: the staggering financial burden that lies ahead. The amount needed to provide a glimmer of hope amidst the darkness that engulfs us is approximately $90,000 to $100,000.

With heavy hearts and tear-stained faces, we ask you, kind souls, to help us in our hour of need. Every contribution, no matter how small, is a ray of light in the darkness, a beacon of hope leading us to a brighter tomorrow.

Together, let us rewrite the narrative of despair and anguish and offer comfort and refuge to those who have known nothing but suffering.

Help Evacuate my Family Extend a Lifeline, Restore Hope

This war has taken almost everything away from me.

My home and the homes of virtually every single member of my family were bombed, destroyed, or razed by Israel; all my memories, cherished belongings and community have been reduced to rubble and ashes.

Thankfully, I still have my family and loved ones, but I’m extremely terrified and haunted by the thought of losing them. There is nowhere safe for them to be; they currently huddle in a primitive tent in dire conditions with little food and water in the Mawasi area after being displaced multiple times, and even there, the IDF has attacked the area multiple times. I’m particularly worried about my ailing father, Mahmoud, who cannot endure these conditions for long.

I have no choice but to seek a way out of Gaza for my family; to evacuate my parents, siblings, nephews, and nieces to safety. And for that, I desperately need your help, kindness, and generosity.

Right now, the only way to get my family out is to pay a fee to the Egyptian government of $5,000 per person and $2,500 per child.

Please help me see my family again and get them to safety before it’s too late.

Thank You for Your Generosity and Compassion.

This is your friend Walid Mahmoud from Palestine, Gaza.

I hope you remember me well and I hope this email reaches you in good health.

At this moment, the Israeli army is launching heavy raids on the Gaza Strip. Thousands of Palestinian families are trying to find shelter. Palestinians are currently reliving what they experienced during the Israeli aggression in 2014. I am sending you this message with the hope that you pray for the civilians in Gaza. The humanitarian situation is extremely difficult. Please contact your government and ask them for an urgent intervention to stop the aggression on Gaza.

I have no words to say. I feel deeply saddened by what is happening. You can still follow the updates from Gaza on my social media accounts. I might be going live soon.

The Gaza Strip needs no introduction

Unemployment rates are rising yearly, life prospects are bleak, and many children and families are living merely to survive. Winter in the slums and refugee camps can be hard-hitting; but can we even make a small difference?!
The generosity of our donors has made our winter campaign possible.

Story

The situation in Gaza is terrible this winter

The Gaza Strip is one of the worst places in the world to be this winter. Thousands of families are living in slums and makeshift shelters that flood with freezing water when it rains, and offer little protection from the harsh winter temperatures. The nights are bitterly cold, and fuel for cooking and heating is scarce. Pregnant women and small children are living in these shocking conditions.

Gaza is part of the Palestinian territories, bordered by Egypt and on the eastern coast of the Mediterranean Sea. It has a population of 1.9 million, and after years of bitter conflict, the people of Gaza are some of the most vulnerable in the world.

Devastation and suffering

The current situation in Gaza is bleak. The escalations of violence has shattered infrastructure, destroyed more than 18,000 homes and torn families apart. 50% of the population of the Gaza Strip live below the poverty line and 44% of households are experiencing food insecurity.

Gaza's public health system suffers from shortages in skilled staff and medical supplies. 17 hospitals and 56 primary healthcare facilities have been destroyed or severely damaged by the hostilities. Hundreds of amputees have been left waiting for prosthetic limbs, and delays in performing elective surgeries cause unnecessary pain, frustration and increase the chances of infection. The constant power cuts make delivering vital services very difficult, and the electricity deficit has reached a high point of 65%.

Gazas children in crisis

In any conflict, children endure the most suffering. The children of Gaza have witnessed horrors that no young person should have to see. They live in fear, without stability or security.

More than 160,000 children are in desperate need of continuous psychological support due to the trauma caused by living through a terrible conflict.

Palestinian children living in Gaza are being denied an education, as bombing has rendered 50% of all kindergartens and 30% of schools unfit for use. The UN estimates that 1,000 of the 2,955 children injured due to the violence will be permanently disabled.

What can I do to help?

Friendship for Relief and Development is in Palestine, providing humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza this winter. Emergency provisions, including food parcels, warm clothes and shoes, blankets, and mattresses, are being distributed to vulnerable families who completely rely on this support. The generosity of our donors has made our winter campaign possible.

With your help, we can save lives in Gaza and bring an end to the suffering of innocent children.

Join us. Act now.

KEEP ME WARM 2022

Help children in Gaza this winter!

Providing a decent life for poor and needy families and orphans by providing necessities for the winter season such as clothes, blankets etc.

The Palestinian economy has been suffering for years in the Gaza Strip from a major collapse, exacerbated by the spread of the Corona crisis epidemic, and the subsequent closure of economic facilities, in addition to the blockade that has been imposed on the Gaza Strip for more than 16 years.

Gaza is currently witnessing an economic crisis that has not been witnessed since 1948, the commercial sector is badly affected, in addition to the collapse of the industrial sector, in light of the closure of many factories' doors and the displacement of thousands of workers, the Gaza Strip, which suffers from severe siege and suffers from not being allowed to export its products, or import any requirements for the industrial and commercial sector, as well as the required equipment and machinery.

Keep me warm is an initiative that has been launched since 2015 and until 2021, this project aims annually to help the poor in Gaza and provide basic needs in winter as winter clothes for children, blankets, and heating.

This initiative has contributed to alleviating the suffering of many people in need in Gaza annually and is continuing thanks to your giving.

This year we aspire also to help through this initiative and continue to help families in Gaza, your donation to this campaign contributes to saving the lives of the poor and alleviating the consequences of the blockade on them.

QURBANI 2022

What is QURBANI 2022 Project?

Starting from this, FRIENDSHIP FOR RELIF AND DEVELOPMENT (FRD)  implements Qurbani Project each year as part of its Al-Adha Eid projects.

This project targets the most vulnerable families living in GAZA and is implemented yearly all over the GAZA STRIP .

It is considered a crucial project due to its role in strengthening the bonds between the members of the communities (the privileged with the under-privileged) as well as providing the people who perform the ritual of sacrifice during the Adha Eid with the opportunity to donate the fresh meat to the most vulnerable families, which is the main objective of performing this type of ritual in the first place.

In line with UNDP’s SDG # 2 “Zero Hunger” which calls for ending hunger and ensuring access by all people, in particular the poor and people in vulnerable situations, including infants, to safe, nutritious and sufficient food all year round by 2030” and “ending all forms of malnutrition”, FRD launches its annual “Qurbani Project” which aims at providing meat portions to the most vulnerable families in GAZA, inclusive of needy families as well as Palestinian refugees living in  camps.

What is the current situation in GAZA?

GAZA is facing a multi-layered crisis.

within the context of a fragile and over 15 years of blockade and weakened economy, is critically affecting the livelihood and socio-economic conditions of the gazans population and -by default- the refugees’ as well.

The imposed blockade exacerbated the implications of the deepened fiscal and economic crisis, both horizontally and vertically. Horizontally, vulnerability is fast expanding to reach wider segments of the population; vertically, the depth and extent of vulnerability are intensified crossing 50% poverty and unemployment rates.

FRD will be supervising the slaughtering of donated Qurbans (sheep or cow) as well as the butchering, packaging, and distribution of meat portions to the poor families living in designated underprivileged areas during the first day of Adha Eid.

Each meat portion weighs 3 kg approximately. Prices differ depending on the slaughtered animal as shown in the below diagram:

The project will be implemented under FRD Relief sector and will be managed by a sub-committee composed of selected staff members from different departments and sectors.

Qurbani Prices for the years 2022 / 1440 are as follow:

Item

Unit Price (USD)

Cow Portion

$ 570

Imported Sheep

$ 440

Local Sheep

$ 340

it’s Saturday ! I hope you have some cool plans for the weekend.

SALAM Alikom Everyone,

it’s Saturday ! I hope you have some cool plans for the weekend.

More than half of population in Gaza Strip lives below poverty line, according to UN data.

Palestinians in the Gaza Strip are preparing to welcome the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan under the shadow of economic difficulties caused by the Israeli blockade . The unemployment rate in the Gaza Strip, with a population of nearly 2.1 million, has almost reached 50% due to the land, sea and air blockade imposed by Israel for 17years, according to UN data. The recent coronavirus outbreak has also caused to deteriorate the economic situation in the territory. More than half of the population in the Gaza Strip currently lives below the poverty line. Despite all these difficulties, the Palestinians are keen to go to the markets for shopping in preparation for the holy month.

As we used to do every month of this year to launch an initiative to provide food baskets to the families most in need during the month of Ramadan, today we have decided to return this initiative because it has contributed so much to helping and meeting the basic needs of many families during the month of Ramadan. Over the past years, we've provided food supplies to hundreds of families, and that's relieving people to provide food.

We invite you to support this initiative this year as well to reach the goal, and we will follow with you updates as usual, thank you all for your generous and lasting support to you with all respect and appreciation.

Dear Honorable Friends,

Dear Honorable Friends,

I hope my email finds you well and elated. Besides, I hope everything comes up roses with you. I am elated to introduce SAAD M. S. ABUSHARBAIN for you all. Saad is a Palestinian student from Gaza Strip; he is living in Turkey right now to complete his PhD in English Language and Literature. Saad proved to be a promising young student who had the capacity and determination to highly achieve his academic objectives which are reflected in his grades. He studied BA of English Literature with GPA 92.13% with honor at Al-Azhar University - Gaza. Then, he travelled to Istanbul to study MA. of Anglo-American Literature and Creative Writing, and he got 100% with first honor degree. Please, read Saad's story via this link: https://www.launchgood.com/campaign/saad_wants_to_realize_his_dream_of_obtaining__phd#!/

Let us help Saad, and prove that hope is still available. Always remember that It's not the amount that matters but the meaning behind your donation. Indeed, the efforts of one person can't move mountains. It's the strength of us all working together that makes a change. Thank you for your time and consideration.

SAAD wants to realize his dream

Saad wants to realize his dream of obtaining PHD

Dear Honorable Friends, and Donors,

I hope everything comes up roses with you. It has been a long time since we keep in contact each other; I do miss all of you. You are always at my heart and mind because we are one hand, one family, and a fabulous team. You know, I do appreciate your amazingly amazing efforts in helping Palestinian youth and families throught the past years, specially Palestinian students from besieged Gaza Strip. Today, I am elated to introduce SAAD M. I could witness Saad's ability to grasp new concepts and approach challenging tasks fearlessly and with passion. Honestly, I evaluate Saad as an intelligent, dependable, and an adaptive person who can merge in any environment and can achieve academic goals. Saad says: " My interest in Literature was gradually shaped throughout my life by different ways in which I have experienced the skills of the English language: as a learner, a translator, and a trainer of English. However, it was the times spent studying in Palestine that made me fully understand that language can be a means of conveying much more than just our thoughts. In fact, it also carries all the information about our background, education, beliefs, prejudices, and generally reflects the way we categorize the world around us. I think that reading and writing different genres go together perfectly, and that the success of the latter is entwined with the scope of the former." Therefore, let me say that I am happy to write this in order to support Saad to pursue his educational plans and progress towards meeting his career goals. Let us put our hands together to support Saad and make his dream of obtaining the PhD come true. Your donation can help him to get the PhD and it will enable him to help his country when he comes back to Palestine. Your donation will be deposited directly into the account of Filistin Öğrencileri Derneği association which seeks to create a Palestinian environment that relieves the student of the difficulties of alienation and distance from family and homeland. Let us help Saad, and prove that hope is still available.

Always remember that the best is yet to come and peace and love will never die.

Life gives us so many things which make us need good health and long for happiness. I wish you good health and happiness in life specially in this pandemic time

This Ramadan, 4,000 families in Gaza need your assistance to secure their Ramadan Iftar meals. With only $20, you can provide a family of an average of 5, with their daily Iftar for the entire holy month through providing them with weekly fresh food baskets for 4 weeks.

The baskets contain fresh produce, eggs and chicken purchased from small poor farmers in Gaza.

This year with your generous support we aim to feed these families your support to these families is meaningful to the people of Gaza.

As we did last Ramadan, we want to achieve this goal also this year.

Updates will be sent to you weekly via email, with all documents and photos.

Best Regrads,

Walid Mamhoud..

Will Gaza’s health care system be able to stem the spread of the virus?

Global monitoring of the pandemic’s spread indicates that every infected individual will likely infect 2 to 2.5 other people – a pace similar to that of the Spanish Flu and much higher than the Swine Flu that hit in 2009. At the moment, stopping the spread depends on two main factors, screen testing for the virus and isolating those who tested positive to prevent continued spread. In the current conditions, it is unlikely that the authorities in Gaza will be able to provide the necessary response. So far, only 92 tests have been administered in Gaza, and it’s unclear how successfully the authorities can enforce isolation in one of the poorest and most densely populated places in the world. Add to that the debilitated water and sewage infrastructure, which makes it much harder to maintain the required standards of hygiene and protection during an epidemic

We Are here To help.

We will create a team of volunteers to work in the field providing the basic needs of the population and providing sterilization tool

In these difficult times, we are doing our best to protect people, especially poor families who cannot buy sterilizers.

The situation in Gaza is catastrophic and we need your support to stand as one hand to confront this virus and prevent its spread in Gaza.

Through this campaign, we will provide sterilization equipment for families here, and we will coordinate with the Ministry of Health in order to provide them with the necessary medical equipment such as an isolation suit and masks.

By your support to this Campaign we will make a difference, let's make things change for better.

Gaza nears 2020

As Gaza nears to the 2020 uninhabitability deadline, and a freezing cold winter hits its besieged population; we should try if even on a micro level to do our best to bring warmth and happiness to its children. That's why I've relaunched our "Keep Me Warm" campaign hoping to bring the heartwarming spirit of Christmas to our people in Gaza. My friends, your unmatched kindness and generosity will mean the world to the hundreds of kids who will receive winter clothing and umbrellas and the tens of families that we'll help to fix the roofs of their houses and provide with stoves from your crucial donations. Please donate to and share our campaign so that together, we can bring a gentle breeze of hope to Gaza's Children.

Welcome Ramdan

Dear supporters

Deficit and desperation define life these days in the Gaza Strip. Residents make do with four hours of electricity a day. Most people don't have access to clean water because the supply system is contaminated with sewage. Breakfast for some schoolchildren is a cup of hot water flavored with a dash of salt.

We do our part as a humanitarian duty to provide the best services in order to help people stay alive. In Ramadan, we aim to provide food parcels for poor families to make them feel comfortable to fast Ramdan.

We invite you to give your generous donations to our Food program project today so we can start to distribute food parcels at through the 30 days of Ramdan days.

Your support to this project means a lot to many families in Gaza it gives them hope to stay more positive in the middle of the hardest storm they live in.

Ramdan Mubarak

we  run a Ramadan campaign aiming at providing those who are less fortunate with a joyous and memorable Ramadan.

Our Ramadan campaign endeavours to provide enough aid and assistance to the poor, so that they too can benefit from, and enjoy the advantages of this blessed month.

Your financial contributions to this campaign not only go towards helping individuals, families and communities to meet their basic needs for fasting, food and clothing, but also work to boost their faith, and put a smile on their faces.

Remember, good deeds in Ramadan are multiplied so use this blessed time to gain maximum rewards. With a variety of initiatives that can be supported daily, you simply have to select from one or more of the giving levels listed below and make a donation.

Ramdan Food Program in Gaza

This Ramadan, Me and my team around the Gaza Strip will be delivering more than 700  food parcels to the most disadvantaged families.

Our  Ramadan Food program campaign enables people to share the joys and blessings of the holy month with families across the Gaza Strip .

The donations will allow for us to distribute over 700  food packs to 1600 people in Gaza Strip.

    • £120 could feed a family for the month of Ramadan

  • £125 could provide water for a displaced family living in a camp

  • £385 could help provide a sustainable livelihood to an orphan and their family.

Our campaign aims to provide 9 items as a full package for every needy family. This £120 package will cover the family for the holy month: Food Parcel, One family Hot Meal for Iftar, Bread, Clean Water, Fitrana and Eid Gift and Ramadan.

We offer on top of that a Ramadan gift for the families of orphans, special needs, and children in needs in this holy month

This is this year's plan, but we are unable to execute anything until you show us your support.

Help the needy Palestinians this Ramadan, and make this blessed month count!

Ramdan Food program in Gaza

As Ramadan is quickly approaching the We are running  a program to help feed people in need in Palestine during the month of
Ramadan.

Donations of any amount will surely help to increase the number of assisted families.

On behalf of me and the people of Gaza City, I would like to thank you all for your generous and continuous support for the people of Gaza.

This city is truly grateful to you for your SUPPORT.

These days, the inhabitants of Gaza are living through the moments of siege that has been going on for more than 11 years now

The poverty rate reached 80%, which means that most of the city's population live below the poverty line

A year ago, a project was launched to provide children's clothing for the poorest children in the Gaza Strip, to provide clothes for 200 or more children.

For the third year in a row, we launched our annual clothing bank to help poor children enjoy the next EID in about 27 days

I need your support to make this project a success and make it continuous every year

thank you all .
