​What is the Friends of Blind Association?

Friends of the Blind is a program dedicated to helping the poor sighted and hard of hearing Palestinian children. These disabled pupils are regularly denied their educational rights because of their disability, and subsequently not accessing a complete or good quality education, and gaining the foundations for being a productive part of an inclusive Palestinian society. 

The insufficiency of the Palestinian educational system in satisfying the fundamental needs of poor eyesight disabled pupils might be considered as one of the most major difficulties poor eyesight disabled pupils face, whether in relation to Palestinian educational system’s resources and infrastructure and/or to its quality and conventional educational styles.

What does this program support?

This program currently is supporting 65 disabled children ranging from Grades 1 to 10 (5-16 years of age). They will be sponsored through this project to receive necessary services such as a free education, a printing center for the Braille Language, and a place to stay for those who live too far from the institution. As we know knowledge is power and these children deserve every chance to be successful and flourish.

​What does sponsoring a child include?

Sponsoring a student includes: School registration Fees, Preparing and printing (65) Braille writing-reading curricula packages, Part of the stationary materials, food, clothing, medical and transportation, Part of the accommodation cost for (38) blind and poor eyesight disabled pupils, and Special “Quran Hifiz and reciting” sessions using Braille writing-reading system.

My goal is to raise $15,000 to help sponsor more children in receiving all the necessities they should have throughout the year. I need your support in order to achieve this!
