​What is Friends of Blind Association?

Friends of the Blind Association is a program that aims to help the poor eyesight and hard of hearing children of Palestine. The poor eyesight Palestinians are regularly denied their educational rights because of their disability, and subsequently not accessing a complete education. 

Who is supported by the Friends of Blind Association?

This program is currently supporting 65 disabled students, ranging from 5 -16 years of age ( Grades 1-10) by providing them with the essential services such as free education and an established printing center to print all the school books in Braille language in addition to Holy Quran, Entertainment and Scientific books.

In the image below,  Mouhammad and I got to spend some time with the students in their computer lab. This was a great experience for us as we were thrilled to see how user friendly the computers were for the children. To our surprise, not all courses are taught in Arabic. The students learn to speak and write in English as well. 

The Friends of the Blind program not only offers free education for the children but also a place to stay for those who live too far from their home and provide them with  3 main meals throughout the day.

What is our goal?

Our goal is to raise $45,000 to sponsor more children with education, medication, food and transportation throughout the year. We need your support to spread awareness to ensure these children obtain the education they deserve!
