HELP YOUNG MUSLIMAS WIN AGAIN

Your funds can help us win again, InshaAllah. For the past two years, Muslimas have been winning at robotics competitions after learning to make and code robots during their free weekly classes held in a suburb of LA. Not only are the girls learning advanced skills that could totally transform their future, these young ladies are being recognized in the media and therefore busting all the negative stereotypes that are all too common about Muslims. If you fund us, we can train more Muslimas to win robotics competitions in the year ahead, InshaAllah.

NATIONAL EXPANSION GOAL

Starting immediately after Ramadan, we plan to expand to more locations all across America, InshaAllah. The founder and coach, Zaina Siyed, will dedicate a whole year to this national rollout by delaying college. Help the Muslimas of FemSTEM win again in the 2018-2019 season, InshaAllah. Depending on level of financial and logistical support received, we will conduct robotics workshops and/or train competition teams in some or all of these regions: LA, Orange County, Inland Empire, San Francisco Bay Area, Fresno, Minneapolis, Boston and Washington DC.

Your contribution will be used for:

• robotic kits
  
• laptops for coding
  
• upgrade existing robotic kits to newer versions
  
• build practice tables required by the competition format
  
• recruit assistant coach to lead teams in parallel in multiple locations
  
• construct or purchase robot to create a virtual presence of lead coach
  
• team T-shirts, buttons, banners and accessories
  
• transportation costs for coaches, students and equipment 
  
• registration costs for First Lego League Robotics Tournament

• cost of incorporating and maintaining a 501(c)(3) non profit

ARE WE CREDIBLE?

FemSTEM showcases Muslimas at their best, Alhumdulillah. The photo above is an example of founder Zaina Siyed being invited to speak at major tech conferences in Los Angeles, Houston and San Francisco to promote the cause of tech education for Muslim girls. Help us demolish those negative stereotypes about Muslims.

FemSTEM has been blessed to receive words of encouragement and advice from the leaders of the American Muslim Community such as Shk. Nomaan Baig, Shk. Dr. Yasir Qadhi, Imam Siraj Wahhaj, Imam Suhaib Webb and spoken word artist Amal Kassir. We hope to use this recognition to inspire more Muslimas to sign up for robotics training and competition in the year ahead. A special thanks to Shk. Nomaan Baig for generously allowing FemSTEM to use the beautiful facilities of IOK in the past two years. In the year ahead, we plan to work with leaders of mosques and Islamic schools to borrow space from them as we expand to other regions.

As seen in the photo below, in addition to winning awards at tournaments, FemSTEM's accomplishments have been recognized by CAIR, the Islamic Shura Council of Southern California, Islamic Society West Valley and most recently, Muslim Girl Scouts. We hope to build on this to inspire and train even more Muslimas in the year ahead, InshaAllah.
