Dear sisters and brothers,Assalamu alikum wa rahmatu Allah. May the peace, mercy, and blessings of God be with you.NAMCC was again vandalized during the early morning of Thursday September 13, 2018. A fence was damaged and multiple vehicles had their tires slashed. The Austin Police were notified and we trust our brave men and women in uniform are doing all they can to apprehend the suspect.
Islam teaches us to be steadfast and persevering for peace and harmony. Even though some may harbor and sometimes express hate towards Islam and Muslims, we will continue to worship God and serve the Austin Community through our outreach programs, free clinic, and food pantry. We will continue to grow our services to benefit all of human-kind.
Please continue to share our campaign so that we can repair the masjid, provide security to the community, and continue to serve the City of Austin.
The comfort and security of our community is a top priority. If you have any questions, email the Imam: imam@namcc.org
You may have become aware of the vandalism which left the masjid with notable damage. No one was hurt alhamdulillah.
Sunday morning at 1:30 am (September 2nd 2018) the burglary alarm system went off and police were notified by the alarm company and NAMCC administrator Mustafa to check on the property. At 2:05 police arrived and spent 30 minutes surveying the property and its surroundings while recording the incident. We have a security camera system, however, the quality of recording would not allow for face recognition or identification of individual. The recording shows a white-skinned (appearing) young man (18-24 year old) with a black hoodie and jeans with slim build. The perpetrator entered the property after compromising a few panels of the wooden fence near the trash dumpster and proceeded to front door of the masjid. He then broke the glass of the front entrance of the main hall running to the side entrance (sisters' side) to break both the door and window glass. The perpetrator was then seen moving across the parking lot to stop and puncture an overnight parked vehicle's tires before he fled from where entered the property.

Security Project Update
Dear sisters and brothers,
Assalamu alikum wa rahmatu Allah. May the peace, mercy, and blessings of God be with you.
All praises are due to Allah. With the help of the Almighty we have made good progress on our planned security improvement since the day of the vandalism attack.
We've extended hours for on-site security personnel, now the security presence covers the period of 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM leaving no gap between night and morning prayer times.
Furthermore, installation is underway for two city street-size lamps to illuminate the unlit south side of the property along the fence. We're working directly with City of Austin on this.
Camera security systems professionals have surveyed the property, and created a fully integrated plan for the entire area; including 3 buildings, 2 parking lots, and the playground. This plan will take place in 4 stages:
We will keep you updated on the project progress as we continue working on it every time a milestone is completed.
We thank you for generous financial support, your presence and volunteering at the property, for your kindly, fully heartening comments and words of support, and for keeping the masjid in your prayer.
With Salam (Peace),
North Austin Muslim Community Center, Executive Committee
Thanks to your help, new glass has been installed!
Salaam,
Thank you so much for supporting us! Whether your donation was big or small, your generosity has and will continue to strengthen our community. With your help, we have been able to clean up the damage, remove the temporary plywood boards, and replace the glass on our doors and windows.
Please continue to donate, and share our campaign with your family and friends! We still need to install a new, more reliable security system estimated at $50k-$70k for installation and materials.
Thank you again for your help!
