Let's help Aysha, a 12 year old refugee who works long hours instead of studying at school, get an education along with many other refugee children!

How Must It Feel To Have Never Gone To School?

At least 380,000 Syrian refugee children living in Turkey aren't getting a proper education, according to a UNICEF report. Aisha is one of them. She and her four siblings don't go to school like the rest of us. Instead, she and her twin sister, both aged 12, work to manage and support their family, which lives in a cramped two room apartment. Below is an image of one of the managers at Al Hayat giving them a box of resources, taken the same day in which 79 boxes were given out to other refugee families.

Help Us Change Aisha's Life.

Aisha and her four siblings can't attend Al Hayat because they can't afford daily transportation. With a bus, Aisha and her siblings would attend school 5 days a week, where they would take fundamental courses such as math and science, receive daily meals, partake in parties and enjoy the company of other children their age. They would receive basic health care such as vaccines, and resources they and their families need, such as food, clothes, school supplies, etc.  Their parents/caretakers would be offered to join programs, educational courses, and seminars to ultimately help them with finding jobs.

Details About Al Hayat:

There are currently 80 students at Al Hayat, ranging from ages 7 to 15 and are placed in 5 different classes. They are taught Math, Science, Turkish, English, Religion, Arabic, and extra classes for art and enriching programs. They are fed meals each day by a Syrian mother, given medical care and resources such as school bags, school supplies, food, clothes, and of course, toys, among other things. (Images and more info are on our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/Al-Hayat-1181141438661891/)

As for the parents and/or guardians, they can choose from a couple of options. There are educational courses such as languages, like Turkish, Arabic, and English. This is especially important for those who have never learnt how to read or write, or receive a proper education, which, unfortunately, can be common.

In addition, they are offered to join occasional seminars that will aid them through their daily struggles and challenges by teaching them how to act in certain situations. 60 adults have benefited from these classes in the past year. Even more so, adults can partake in sewing classes, like the 14 who are currently taking part in these classes. There are also plans to make classes for basic computer engineering, as well as cooking. If the parent/guardian is not interested, they can still benefit by coming to the organization whenever they are in need of resources, and receive what they need.

There are 14 employees who are all refugees that are well educated or are skilled, like the ten teachers, three sewers and single cook.

More than 7 and a half tons of clothes have been given out in 2016, and three and a half in 2017. 450 families have received food baskets in 2016, and 113 have benefited in 2017. More and more baskets of food and prepared meals will be given out during Ramadan, especially once we have a bus!

There are special measures that are taken when dealing with orphans, however. Orphaned children have it especially rough because their main source of food, shelter and support is usually no longer there without one or both their parents, which can have a serious affect on the children. This is why the orphans currently in Al Hayat receive extra after school care to help with socializing them and letting them express themselves through activities. 340 orphans and their families have, and most still are benefiting from Al Hayat. If you have any questions, send us a message to our Facebook page, or check out our website at: http://alhayathumanity.org/en/

The bus we have our eyes on is a second hand Volkswagen 2012. However, if we don't reach our goal, we will try to find a less expensive bus or continue to raise money in our community, until we reach our goal.

There are 30 days in Ramadan, help us reach our goal before it ends!

As well as helping more children receive an education, a bus will make it easier to distribute resources more often, and will make school trips occur more often.

We Need Your Help

Last time you were a huge part of helping us pull through the fundraiser.

This time, we need help to feed and give shelter to more Syrian Refugees.

You can be the reason for a full months worth of food for a Refugee Family, for only a couple of dollars. However small the donation may be, it will be worth so much more to the families who receive it. Check out all the different giving levels and the fundraiser here:

Thank You!

Salam everyone!

We've closed the fundraiser not too long ago and would like to update you all that your rewards are on the way! There have just been a few technical difficulties and things couldn't get out on time. Thank you for all your patience! We'd also like to add that because the fundraiser hasn't reached the goal, and isn't near to the amount we'd require for a bus, we want to continue saving up or raising money around our community until we get enough to afford a bus.

Thank you for all your kindness!

Give with peace of mind
