Help a single mother recover from a stroke and take care of her two daughters and medical expenses.

Recovering from a Massive Stroke

On November 5, 2017,  Sister Fatima had a massive stroke.  Her CT scan revealed that she has a deep brain bleed and suffered what is called a Hemorrhagic stroke. As a single mother and the primary source of income for her household, she will not be able to afford the medical bills. Her recovery requires intense physical and occupational therapy and urgent care that unfortunately is more than her family can afford.

The massive stroke has caused partial paralysis of the left side that may never return, in addition to cognitive delays that will hinder her from returning to her workplace.

One-of-A-Kind Teacher

Sister Fatima is a beloved mother and teacher at Al-Rahmah Islamic School in Baltimore, Maryland. She goes above and beyond for her students having taught such subjects as Mathematics, Model U.N., and Computer Technology. Sister Fatima has taught elementary, middle and high school and believes in teaching the whole child.  Teaching beyond the classroom and developing life skills. She seeks to be a mother, friend, and teacher to all her students.

For the past two-years, she has taken her students to the national Model U.N conference in New York City to expand and explore their horizons. To bring her students a complete and enjoyable learning experience, she has also taught after-school programs such as robotics club, art class and provided tutoring services.

Sister Fatima: A Mother, Teacher, Friend in need

On top of medical expenses and a long recovery road of physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy; Sister Fatima is the primary source of income for her and her two daughters.  She needs help with medical expenses such as medication, intensive therapy, and hospital care but also for the basic needs of her family.

Ramadan Mubarak and Thank you!

As Salaamu Alaikum! Ramadan Mubarak!

As Sister Fatima’s campaign comes to an end, I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to every single soul that prayed, visited, donated, shared and any other act of kindness. We are all so thankful. Sister Fatima’s care would not have been possible, first without the mercy of Allah (God) and then without your generous hearts. In this blessed month of Ramadan, we reflect on the mercy and blessings bestowed upon our family and are happy and humbled to count you all as such. Thank you so very much.  Jazakhallah Khair.

I pray you have a blessed and beautiful Friday!
