My name is Sundoes Elbery and I am an educator in NYC. This summer inshallah (God willing), I will be participating in this fellowship in hopes to spread the skills and knowledge I've learned to educators in Uganda. 

 

I am raising funds to pay for travel and accommodation for the duration of the program, which is 3 weeks. 

Many people will have this misconception that I will be going to Uganda in order to teach educators how to teach. Wrong. I will be showing the teachers the skills we’ve learned here in the states and in my school in order for them to use what they think will benefit their students more. My teaching methods are in no means the “right” way of teaching but I will collaborate in order to come up with the best skills to teach students in Uganda. I will be collaborating with head teachers of 40 local schools in Masindi in hopes to sustain our work in America and beyond!
