Tropical Storm Florence Has Arrived

Hurricane Florence slammed the eastern seaboard late this week, bringing powerful winds, torrential rains and destructive floods.
Millions of our fellow Americans have had to flee their homes, leaving everything they have behind. 

Penny Appeal USA is monitoring the situation closely and plans to respond once the immediate crisis is over. We will help families back into their homes and businesses once the flooding decreases and the attention of the media turns to another corner of the globe. As well as issuing families with essential tools and equipment for mucking out houses and gutting them post floods, we will issue financial assistance to those most in need.

Last year, after hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria, we issued impacted families with financial assistance to help them get back on their feet. Our financial grants enabled them to replace the belongings they had lost and start to build their lives anew.

The Facts:

·       Florence made landfall as a hurricane near Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina, Friday morning. 

·       Florence was located about 15 miles west-northwest of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina as of 11 p.m. Friday.

·       Already 5 people have lost their lives

·       Tornadoes are possible in southeastern North Carolina and northeastern South Carolina through Saturday night.

·       Over 927,865 (738,826 in North Carolina and 189,039 in South Carolina) homes and businesses were without power late Friday night.
