Who Are We?

Muslim Public Affairs Committee UK (MPACUK) has been in the UK political scene for 17 years, with a strong record of successful campaigns in defending Muslim civil liberties and tackling Islamophobia in the media.

From getting bigoted journalists sacked - such as Robert Kilroy-Silk - from national platforms like the BBC, to taking on the insidious Prevent strategy, we've been at the forefront of defending our community's rights.

In the election 2005, 2010 & 2017, we successfully got rid of many pro-war and anti-Muslim MPs, an achievement unmatched by any other Muslim political organisation in Europe.

What's The Anti-Islamophobia Nerve Centre?

The "Anti-Islamophobia Nerve Centre" is a dedicated space to systematically challenging Islamophobic discrimination and narratives through campaigns, research, workshops, and educating our communities to do the same.

Updates Since Last Ramadan

Over 100 donors helped us reach our target of £20,000 in 2017 and with that money we lay the foundations for the next 3 years. Thanks to you we were able to:

• Launched National Projects: Project 10K, Project D.A.W.A.H (Debating And Winning Against Hate) & Ummah Awakening Article Series.
• Ran ‘Operation Muslim Vote 2017’ in Ramadan - removed 3 pro-war/Islamophobic MPs from power and launch first-ever constituency-based map.
• Conduct media interviews on Sky, BBC, Islam Channel, local Muslim channels and in the community
• Achieve numerous campaign successes
• Produce videos on Islamic history and current political commentary reaching hundreds of millions around the world
• National workshops, educating Muslims to pro-actively challenge anti-Muslim propaganda across the UK

This year will have a strong focus on bringing our capacity-building projects to fruition, outreaching to thousands of Muslims for Project 10K and collaborating with organisations, nationally and internationally, via Project D.A.W.A.H (Debating And Winning Against Hate) and so much more. 

Game-Changing Projects for the Muslim Communities. 

These projects are designed to equip the Muslim community with the ideas, tools and infrastructure needed to fight the Islamophobia Industry. 

1) Project 10,000: Our campaigns app enable users to action our alerts and campaigns in a few seconds and enable us to confidently build mass-action in unison. Together we can begin pro-active campaigns to demand our equality. This alone would be a complete breakthrough for the Muslim communities.

2) Project D.A.W.A.H (Debating And Winning Against Hate): A finite number of issues are recycled continuously to demonise Muslims. If it's not terrorism, it's halal meat, niqab, grooming gangs etc. So it's clear there is an organised effort. 

Despite this occurring for over a decade, no Muslim organisation in the world has formulated an organise response. We will be doing just that on every topic that affects us in the form of high-quality briefing sheets for organisations and animations for the online masses. 

3) Ummah Awakening Long-Read Series: You may have seen our long-reads on 5Pillars or Muslim Vibe. Over the last 13 years, we have been presenting and educating Muslims to equip Muslims with the powerful concepts and ideas they need today. We make use of history's most prominent political leaders and original MPACUK ideas that have shaped the way people look at our reality today.

For the first-time ever, we will be publishing them online and making them free for the public. 

Beating the Islamophobia Industry

“We sent Our messengers with clear signs, the Scripture and the Balance, so that people could uphold JUSTICE” (Surah Al-Hadid: 25)

A man asked the Prophet (SAW), “What is the best jihad?” The Prophet said, “A word of truth in front of a tyrannical ruler.”(Source: Musnad Aḥmad 18449)

Propaganda is all about 'narratives': joining the dots until you create a picture of an oppressor or the oppressed. As we have seen, this mobilises people to carry out and justify acts of hate and violence against others. 

If we want to stop the violence, we have to organise and beat the narrative behind it.

The Islamophobia Industry have a hateful, but powerful narrative. They also highly organised because they are funded by the millions of dollars. 

But their arguments are weak and we can fight back with the truth, as well as campaign for our rights off the back of it, so long as we are well informed and organised. 

Our projects are designed to help Muslim do just that.

Project 10K: After having over 1000 pre-launch sign-ups for our campaign app, we will be building on our success of this project and bring it to full fruition this year.

Project D.A.W.A.H: Branding, staffing and testing processes to make it efficient for this project has been our main challenges that we have overcome.
