HAVING MASJID IN MUSLIM MINORITY COUNTRY IS OUR DREAM!!

Assalamualaikum warahmatullah wabarakatuh

We are TSUKUBA ISLAMIC ASSOCIATION (TIA), a muslim community that live in Tsukuba City, Japan. OUR MASJID is THE ONLY ONE masjid in Tsukuba City, house of 400 muslims. 

Our present masjid is old enough that cracks are everywhere, and dangerous toward earthquake that frequently happening in Japan. Also the prayer space are not enough for current muslim population.

That's why, insyaAllah, we want to build it as soon as possible. Currently, we are collecting donation from inside Japan dan outside Japan. 

Please kindly support us in having a masjid and spreading the message of islam in Japan.

• ​Prayer space is not enough

Tsukuba is City located at Ibaraki Prefecture, around 50 km from Central of Tokyo, Japan. Tsukuba is the biggest science city in Japan, because it have more than 300 institutions and university, with 60 research institute. It interacts more than 75.000 foreigners from 133 countries to come to this city, as researcher, student, or worker.

Also, population of muslim in Tsukuba increasing each year. This year, muslim are around 400 people, which in 2012 are around 300 people. With now’s masjid, for Friday prayer, it forced us to use outside garden/empty area.Which will make us difficult to pray in hot, rainy, and winter season. That’s why we need more space to pray.

• ​Our building is OLD

In 1990s we bought this building that previously a rubber factory that bankrupted and use the very same building as masjid (until now) without any big renovation. It is made from wood. In 2001, we bought the land beside the area and use it as parking area. Especially, our building is old enough and having cracks are everywhere, so that it will lack rain water in rain season, and allow wind to enter in winter, and not strong enough against earthquake that frequently happening in Japan, to build a stronger masjid is needed.

Year by year, we struggled to proceed it according to Japanese Law,such as : registration of our Islamic organization to Ministry of Law, application of reconstructing procedure to City Office, and making contract with Japanese Construction Company to have a project.

Ramadhan 2017​

​Every weekend in Ramadhan, Tsukuba Masjid invited muslims and non-muslims to Masjid, and prepared meals plus sweets for almost 350 people. Alhamdulillah this year we successfully invited many people. After breakfast, we continued to have isya prayer and tarawih with 1 juz recitation.

• ​we used blue sheet (up) at rainy day
  

• we used outside yard/empty place for pray, just near to bicycle parking area. the soil was wet (it was raining day) 

• since main hall and parking are full, we used any empty space for just pray

• ​car parking area is always full of capacity. the car that can't park here, need to park at neighbor or hospital nearby. (by obtaining permission)
  

• we performed prayer at limited hall space, byusing empty spaces behind cars and pedestrian road.
  
  

InsyaAllah, someday we will have enough space to pray together with the growing moslem population in Tsukuba.
