Finally, we found breathing room for our amazing students! But can we get the space?

We need your help right away.  We’ve raised ⅔ of the funds to buy this wonderful building that will give our sisters and our adult students their own space to learn.

We launched the Michigan Islamic Institute as a way to make the teachings of Islam more accessible, more easily attainable. We launched it because we saw a need and we knew in our hearts that 

Our students must make room in our current schools, even though they are studying in post-graduate programs.

Uthman bin Affan reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “The best of you are those who learn the Quran and teach it.”

So when a Miftaah student learns a surah, an ayah or even a word or a letter, there is a chance of reward in that for you.

Our adult students are dedicated and inspiring in their motivation to learn the deen, regardless of the space.

Abdullah ibn Mas’ud reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Whoever recites a letter from the Book of Allah, he will receive one good deed as ten good deeds like it. I do not say that Alif Lam Mim is one letter, but rather Alif is a letter, Lam is a letter, and Mim is a letter.”

Can you even calculate the number of rewards of ONE DAY for ONE STUDENT at Miftaah?  We can’t! But the angels record it all, and you will be delighted and amazed at how many rewards you will see on the Day of Judgement, insha Allah.

Already an uncountable amount of rewards. So what about all those rewards multiplied by thousands when we teach them in this new building?

When we secure this building, classes like this winter Seerah Intensive will be more comfortable for our students.

You’d think that in this day and age, in Warren, Michigan, not having enough students would be our problem.  

We have the best kind of problem: there are too many students, and simply not enough space.

In the winter of 2018, we opened registration for our first annual Seerah Intensive, taking place over a week. Registrations started flowing in, Masha'Allah!

Our capacity was capped at 35, and we hoped we’d get that many students. What happened amazed and scared us: 85 students registered!

What could we do? That was more than twice the number of students allowed in the room! 

We ended up splitting the class in two in order to make sure everyone got a chance to come to learn. But this is one example of the many times we’ve had to work hard to make space.

It’s not great for our students, and it’s not great for our teachers. We risk having to turn people away and compromise our delivery.  It’s hard to remain professional when this happens.

And it happens often.

We want to raise $1 Million.  We’ve already raised $2 million!  This money will fund the purchase of a building that we will use to educate our growing number of adult students and Muneer Academy for Muslim girls from grades 3-12.

In 2015, we had only 17 students enrolled. Now, we have more than 300 students and over 3000 attendees at our yearly conferences.        

With growth like that, we hope to have over 10,000 students and attendees by 2022.  

Young students, as well as those who have completed school, attend our winter Seerah Intensive.

Every student that walks into our classroom, and every attendee to our events, conferences, and programs is a potential bundle of reward for you.

When you donate, no matter how much you can, you get the reward for the note-taking, the concentrated listening, the attendance and the du’aas of each and every student, big and small. To support someone learning Islam is like coming to us and studying yourself.

Abu Mas’ud reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Whoever guides someone to goodness will have a reward like one who did it.”

Our programs draw hundreds across the USA. Here are our ongoing programs, and how they benefit our students:

• A 3-year Associate Program for young professionals and college students to boost their knowledge of Islam and give them direction

• A week-long Seerah Intensive to help students across the Midwest connect to the life of our Messenger Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)

• Weekend local and traveling workshops to suit the schedules and locations of anyone across the country 

• Miftaah Online provides students with a grasp of Arabic, to build a base from which to grow in knowledge with other Islamic Sciences, and more importantly, the Quran

• Conferences that bring distinguished scholars from across the country to encourage and motivate Muslims to always be a student of the deen

• Springing up in various communities where the need is intense, Miftaah Lite allows students to learn the Associate curriculum in the comfort of their local masjid

First, try to imagine the store of rewards for helping us get in this building. You will get rewarded for everyone who is presently enrolled, plus the reward of all those who study there until the Last Day.
