Amazing opportunity 

No we are not kidding!!

This year our organization raised money on this site to feed ramadan iftar, and a grand Eid meal to close out the largest Libertarian event of the year, the Porcupine Freedom Festival or Porcfest. 

The success of that effort has led us to an opportunity of a different kind. Alhumdulillah,  in the spirit of the Ansar, a non Muslim attendee has offered to donate a structure on the main hwy in Keene NH, for a masjid, with the expressed purpose of encouraging other Muslims to move to the area. 

This property just happens to be about 5 miles from the home of now infamous white nationalist Christopher Cantwell. Made a national name recently by the coverage of his involvement in the Chalottesville protests, by Vice magazine.

The first of it's kind in the state.

Masjid al Latiff and Interfaith Community Center, MALIC Center for short, will be the first house of worship of it's kind in the state of NH. A full 5 prayer a day masjid, with an on site live in caretaker. Suhoor, iftar, itiqaf , taraweh, and tahajud services. 

We will also offer our space to other local minority faiths. Quakers, jews, and the Shire Free Church are all in need of space they can regularly use for worship. We hope to return the good will shown to us, with service of our own to the Keene religious community.

Already creating a new level of community, and we aren't even open, Alhumdulillah.

Alhumdulillah the efforts of the MALIC Center have already had an impact on locals. Something that has been made evident by the loads of positive local news coverage in sources ranging from local print media like FreeKeene, and The Keene Sentinel, to big television media like NBC Boston. 

Volunteers have come from as far as 100 miles to help scrub floors, sand drywall, and paint. Most of them non muslims, even a NH candidate for governor.

​Just take it over, and make it over

That's right, this is ready to roll. Just pick up the keys and do a quick remodel. That's why we need YOU!!! A new mehrab, a mimbar, new carpets, a sound system, and a sign. Along with a deposit for a repair acct for a leaky pipe or broken a/c. 

However don't get me wrong,  this isn't remodeling a heap, quite the contrary. New roof, new paint, great structure.  Just giving the place a "Muslim facelift", as we start what we hope will be a beacon of light and mercy in Western New Hampshire.
