The Only One of its Kind

Al-Ikhlas Training Academy (ATA) is the only K-12, private Islamic institution in the city of Detroit. 

We aim to empower every student with the knowledge of Allah, His creation, and the knowledge of 

self through creating an environment that allows each student to maximize his/her abilities 

academically, socially, and spiritually, in order to become healthy, productive citizens of the world 

society.  

   Islamic Tradition in Inner-city Detroit

Director Imam Nadir Ahmed founded Al-Ikhlas with the belief  that Islamic education is a right to 

every Muslim child and therefore, it must be accessible to low-income families. We are recognized 

nationwide for having one of the most affordable tuition costs and offering numerous full-

scholarships every year. We are committed to following the prophetic tradition of meeting for the 

sake of Allah in spaces that reflect Dar Al-Arqam, where our Muslim identity not merely exists, but it 

is centered. In doing so, we hope to foster a generation of young Muslims who take the world by 

storm not in spite of their Islam, but because of it. And there is no better place in this country to do 

so than Detroit: a city known for its passion, action, and grit.
