In our community, we have so many taboos, stigmas and unsaid struggles - from doubts in faith to depression to relationship issues to so much more- and the silence often sends a deeply painful message. When we don't feel like we can find support in the spaces of God, we're made to feel like God Himself is angry at us or that we are unworthy to Him.
We want to create a show which focuses on God's light and love in your own life despite your struggles, drawing from the Quran and the Prophetic traditions.
The four 5-8 minutes episodes we have thus far recorded focus on:
1- Maryam Amir's personal experiences struggling to find her space as a woman in the Muslim community and advice for men and women who struggle with women's issues.
2- Are you a hypocrite? Are your sins and your mistakes signs of your weak faith?
3- The trials you go through that often go unstated: are they punishments from God?
4- Duaa: What if you make duaa and the opposite comes true?
The next four inshaAllah will address other issues frequently asked in the community.
We are looking for individuals who want to invest in supporting female voices in the community addressing issues within the narrative of scholarship. Your donations are investments in helping us address issues which often cause people to feel alone and far from God. InshaAllah it is our hope that this show will bring light, hope and love in our relationships with God and ourselves.
In order to publish 8 episodes, we still need to raise $8000. Your support is deeply appreciated and we pray it will be considered a sadaqah jariya (continuous charity) for you!
