Assalam Aleykum Wbt.
This year, Humanity Aid Foundation will provide Ramadan food packages and Ifthor meals to the needy fasting Muslims in Uganda. The beneficiaries for this project will be mainly the Orphans, Widows, Poor and Needy fasting Muslims.
We shall distribute 1,000 food packages to 1000 families and also we shall provide ifthor meals in form of already cooked food to Masjids. We shall provide meals to 5 masjids across the country in the districts of Sironko, Mbale, Pallisa, Kibuku and Butebo.
Ramadan is a special time of year; a time when Muslims around the world take a step back from their daily routines and focus on community, charity, fasting and prayer.
Many Muslims during this time, do not participate in fasting due to the fact that they cannot afford basic food necesities. Majority are poor peasants who depend majorly on substance farming with poor yields.
Hazrat Abdullah Ibn Abbas described that the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was the most generous of people, and even more so during the month of Ramadan.
According to The Holy Quran “Those who spend their wealth by night and day, in secret and in public, shall have their reward with their Lord. On them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve” (Al-Quraan 2:274)
FEED AN ORPHAN
Sahl ibn Sa'd reported: The Prophet (pbuh), said, “Myself and the caretaker of an orphan will be in Paradise like this,” and he held his two fingers together. (Source: Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 5659)
FEED A WIDOW
Abu Hurayra (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, “the person who strives on behalf of widows and poor is like those who strive in the way of Allah and like those who fast in the day and pray at night.”
