Provide a Beautiful Prayer Space for Women and Children 

The carpet in the women’s musallah needs a solution due to years of wear and tear and a lack of lines to show how to pray in a straight line. With your help inshallah we can replace the carpet with a beautiful patterned carpet that will be long lasting and create an even more beautiful space for the sisters to pray in. Our mosque is located in Bloomington, Indiana and services a diverse population of students going to Indiana University and people living here long term. Because of our ever moving population, raising funds for projects can be tricky. Supporting this project is important because it encourages women to come and worship in the mosque and it provides a beautiful environment for students to worship away from home and still stay connected with their faith. 

We have already started repainting the area and with installation of new carpet with prayer lines, our sisters and their children will have a beautiful prayer space to worship in. 

Our estimates show that the carpet will cost $5,000 and installation will be $1,000.

 All extra money raised will be going to a cleaning services fund to ensure that the walls and carpet are maintained well!

About Me:

My name is Autumn, and I first came to Bloomington as a student in 2007. I have since graduated and made my home in Bloomington and I serve on the Women's Committee alongside Katie, Sherouk, and Yasha. This project is important to us so that women feel welcome in our masjid. The women use this space to worship, for their children to play in, for youth group to meet in and to host guests who come for various reasons such as to learn more about Islam or to provide information to the community about safety.
