This campaign will collect all funds raised by September 22, 2019 at 12:00 AM EDT
This campaign to build water wells for those in need, in partnership with Penny Appeal USA, is our way of showing gratitude to Allah (SWT) for inviting us to His house for Hajj and our desire to help those less fortunate than ourselves.
Through the mercy of Allah (SWT), we had the opportunity to perform Hajj this year. We were able to visit the Kaaba'h, perform the rights of the Hajj, and make du'a for our friends, families, the ummah, and the entirety of humanity. One of the Imams on our trip told us that we shouldn't ask of Allah without asking more of ourselves, and committing to doing more in service to Him and His creation when we returned. This campaign to build water wells for those in need is part of our response to that instruction.
Completing the Hajj would not have been possible without consistent and easy access to clean water. The intensity of the Meccan heat and the size of the crowds made even short trips both significantly harder, and drastically more dangerous. Throughout the Hajj, we learned of multiple people from our groups and others suffering from dehydration and heat exhaustion, and these were dangers to everyone, regardless of age, gender, and fitness level.
Unfortunately, the CDC estimates that 780 million people lack access to appropriate drinking water sources around the world. Please help us in taking this small action to help address this problem. We are working with Penny Appeal to build wells so that we can help give access to safe, clean, and reliable water to those who wouldn't otherwise have it. The benefits for supporting this cause cannot be calculated. The simple act of providing water supports the entirety of a community, young and old, healthy and sick. It is also a form of Sadaqah Jariah (continuous charity), as Allah promises to continue rewarding us for everyone who benefits from that well, even after we die.
Anas ibn Malik reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Seven deeds of a servant continue to be rewarded after his death while he is in his grave: knowledge to be learned, constructing a canal, digging a well, planting a date-palm tree, building a mosque, handing down a written copy of the Quran, and leaving a righteous child who seeks forgiveness for him after his death.” Source: Musnad al-Bazzār 2773
In addition, providing water is one of the best forms of charity. Sa’d ibn ‘Ubadah reported: I said, “O Messenger of Allah, my mother has died. Shall I give charity on her behalf?” The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Yes.” I said, “Which charity is best?” The Prophet said, “A drink of water.” Source: Sunan al-Nasā’ī 3664
Please join us by contributing whatever you can to this campaign and receiving the reward of everyone who benefits from it. May Allah reward your generosity, Jazak Allahu Khairan.

Initial Goal Reached!
As salaamu alaykum everyone,
alhumdullilah we were able to reach our initial goal of $10,000! May Allah swt reward everyone who donated and made duaa for this campaign!
I've been in touch with Penny Appeal about how best to use the money that was raised. The option that is most appealing is as follows:
1 deep well in Somalia
4 hand pump wells across South Asia
This will allow us to spread good across a larger area, alhumdullilah. If we continue to raise more money, we will continue to add additional wells to this project.
May Allah swt accept your Hajj if you've gone, and invite you to go soon if you haven't, ameen!
Alhumdullilah!
As salaamu alaykum everyone,
Alhumdullilah it is thru the blessings of Allah swt that this campaign has been supported and we have been able to raise as much as we have! JazakAllahu khair to everyone that has donated so far! May Allah swt reward you and accept your Hajj if you've gone for Hajj and bring you back to His House soon or invite you to His house if you haven't gone for Hajj yet, ameen!
I am overjoyed at the response this campaign has gotten, alhumdullilah. We have raised enough money to build two wells so far, and are approaching building the third well alhumdullilah!
Let's continue to encourage our friends and family to donate to this cause. If you know someone whose gone for Hajj (or not!) please send them our way to donate. All funds are directly collected by Penny Appeal USA.
May Allah swt reward you all, ameen!
Ayaz
