An Islamic children’s book every child and adult will love!

"Where’s my prayer mat?" is an exciting rhyming storybook of a young boy named Musa on a journey around his house, looking for his prayer mat so he can pray his salah on time.

At Tiny Twinkle, we have been very working hard (over 2 years!) to be able to bring out an Islamic children’s story book with lift-the-flap features (as we are seriously lacking in these style of books).

Curriculum resource

This storybook is a great curriculum resource for Early Years teaching at schools, preschools and Islamic school and Maktabs.

Musa finds other items such as the Tasbeeh (prayer beads) and Quran and this is a great story sack idea for teaching.

Children can also do role play using this story and it’s has great links to other curriculum subjects and topics

Where’s my prayer mat game

It’s an excellent game idea, where children in the school or in the household can play.

A child can leave the room and another child can hide a prayer mat. When child enters, everyone can chant, “where’s my prayer mat, where’s my prayer mat?” while the child looks for the prayer mat and when they find it, another child can have a turn.

About the author?

The self-published author Ruhana Begum is a mother of two and a primary school teacher based in London. After the birth of her first daughter in 2016, she had longed to finish writing stories she had written in her youth and finally get them out and published.

Ruhana says, ‘As Muslims, we have come a long way with bringing about Islamic stories and we should continue to do so. I loved stories with lift-the-flap elements when I was a little girl and believe there needs to be Islamic stories or even non-Islamic stories with Muslim protagonists.’

Her story of Musa in ‘where’s my prayer mat?’ is just the start in establishing her publishing company Tiny Twinkle and bringing out many other high-quality Islamic story books and motivate other aspiring authors and illustrators to join.

We have created the story and self-funded the illustration and editing processes. We have found our book production team in China and paid fees for samples of the book so that you are able to see.

We are at the last stage for getting copies printed and need help for this production to take place. Once they have finished production, it will take around 30 days for us to receive the books and send out to you.
