Support training and employment programs for women artisans and preserve Palestinian cultural heritage

This campaign is endorsed as Zakat eligible by Al-Sheikh Ebad Al-Hamid Atah of Bethlehem, Palestine

Keep the art of tatreez alive in Palestine

Tatreez embroidery is a centuries-old Palestinian art form, traditionally passed down from mother to daughter. Our non-profit's mission for Darzah is twofold:

1) Create job opportunities for refugee and low-income women in Palestine

2) Preserve the art of tatreez and celebrate Palestinian culture

Tatreez designs are at risk of being lost

Today fewer Palestinian women are learning tatreez embroidery. With your help, we will help preserve this art form by creating jobs for embroiderers in Palestine, and by building The Tatreez Archive -- the world’s largest online database of tatreez motifs. We'll invite the 10 million Palestinians around the world to submit motifs from their own family heirlooms -- documenting the design, its history and its origins. Our easy-to-use website will enable Palestinians to share their cultural heritage with the world.

Jobs for refugee and low-income women

Darzah is a project of Child's Cup Full, a non-profit based in the West Bank that trains and employs refugee and low-income women artisans to make handmade, fair trade certified goods. We create lasting economic opportunities for marginalized women to support themselves, their families and their communities in Palestine.

A symbol of Palestinian cultural heritage

The Tatreez Archive will be an educational resource, not only for Palestinians, but for the entire world. We want people who wear our products to share the story of tatreez with their friends and acquaintances, and learn more about the hundreds of designs from villages and cities all over Palestine.

We're committed to supporting the Palestinian economy in our entire supply chain -- we work with a local shoe maker to address the declining shoe industry in HebronWe also source all of our materials from local suppliers and manufacturers in the West Bank.

Customize your own tatreez product and help us reach our goal!

*All  proceeds will fund our training and employment programs in the West Bank and building the Tatreez Archive. Proceeds will not be used for administrative costs.

Introducing Zeki Learning -- help us grow our Palestinian educational brand and create more jobs for refugee moms!

Salam!

We're excited to share that our non-profit in Palestine just launched its 2018 campaign for Zeki Learning, our new educational brand that employs refugee and low-income moms in Palestine! We're asking you to donate whatever you can to help us reach our goal this Ramadan (even $1 makes a difference!), and to help us spread the word about our Zeki Learning campaign.

Can you share our campaign for Zeki Learning with three of your friends and family members this week?

Thank you for all your incredible support!

The Tatreez Archive is now LIVE! Thank you for your support!

Salam!

Last year, you donated to Darzah to enable us to provide jobs for refugee and low-income embroidery artists in Palestine and to create the world's first online archive of Palestinian embroidery. We are so grateful for your support and thanks to you, we are very excited to announce The Tatreez Archive is now LIVE!

Because of you, not only have we increased our impact in Palestine, we can now do even more to preserve Palestinian cultural heritage.

We're inviting Palestinians around the world to submit motifs from their family heirlooms, documenting the designs, their origins and their meanings. Our embroidery artists in Palestine are continuing to gather motifs to upload to the Archive, but we need your help to spread the word for submissions! As the world's first crowd-sourced archive of tatreez, this platform has the potential to grow exponentially -- and YOU made that possible!

We are so grateful for your support of our work at Darzah. We couldn't have done this without you!

Shukran!

Thank you for creating jobs in Palestine and helping to preserve tatreez!

Salaam!

Thank you for your generous donations to our project on LaunchGood. Thanks to your amazing support this Ramadan, we will be able to train and employ at least six more refugee and low-income women artisans in Palestine, and start building the Tatreez Archive. That's incredible!

Our goal is to double our impact this year. Can you share our campaign with three of your friends today?
