Give Once, Earn Reward Forever: Help Grow the Waqf Loan Fund to Provide Riba-Free Loans for Imams

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: "When a person dies, his deeds come to an end except for three: ongoing charity, beneficial knowledge, or a righteous child who prays for him." (Muslim)

75.4% of Imams on the IDP do not have access to a micro-finance facility. That's where the Waqf Loan Facility comes in!

The aim of the Waqf Loan Fund is to provide riba-free micro-loans, up to R10,000/ $550/ £435, to Imams who have no access to conventional loan facilities because of their low income bracket and informal employment. This facility allows Imams to tend to their immediate needs and improve their lives. This facility allows Imams to not only do the things they could only ever dream about but also assist them in times of dire need. Everything from home improvements, business seed funding, motorcycles, and family medical assistance, while maintaining financial independence and avoiding riba-based loans.

The Structure that Allows for Sustainability

  1. A strict and timely repayment process: Deductions are made automatically from the Imam’s monthly stipend over a six-month period for smooth and manageable repayments.
  2. Financial Support: Guidance is provided to help Imams use the loan effectively and avoid recurring financial challenges.
  3. Thorough Monitoring: Systems are in place to track loan usage, repayment progress, and the impact on the

The Problem: Insufficient Funds to Meet the Demand

The current Waqf Loan Fund falls short of meeting the growing demand. With average monthly loan requests reaching R162,054/$8,913/£7,051 and a payout cap of just R60,000/$3,300/£2,610, many Imams are unable to access the assistance they need. This funding gap limits their ability to address essential needs, such as education, healthcare, or entrepreneurial ventures, leaving Imams vulnerable and forced to explore riba-based loans or remain in financial distress. The current fund balance, while impactful, is not sufficient to sustainably support the Imams' growing requirements.

The Solution: $20,000 Injection into the Fund

A $20,000 injection into the Waqf Loan Fund will begin to fill this gap and allow for increased monthly payouts to a greater number of Imams. Give once and earn ongoing rewards—your donation will multiply its impact over time, enabling Imams to thrive and achieve what they think is unachievable!
"The example of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah is like a seed of grain that sprouts seven ears; in every ear, there are a hundred grains. Allah multiplies for whom He wills." (Quran 2:261)
