Campaign Goal:

To raise £100k between January 2025 and March 2025 to sustain and secure the vital services we provide for the Nusantara Muslim community in the UK and Europe. If we can achieve our goal, we can secure Suffa’s running for 4-5 more months, giving valuable time for the team to raise more corporate donations, grants and encourage everyone to become life-long Suffa Supporters through monthly donations.
 

Campaign Story:

Since 2016, The Suffa Educational Foundation has served as a beacon of support, guidance, and education for the Muslim community. From offering foundational Islamic education to providing essential community services, we’ve built a legacy of care and connection.

Now, that legacy is at risk.

As a registered charity (Charity Registration No. 1186530), we rely on the generosity of donors to sustain our work. However, the months leading up to Ramadan are historically our most challenging for fundraising. This year, we face a critical shortfall, and without your support, we may be forced to close our doors.

Where Your Donations Will Go:

• Essential operational costs such as rent, utilities, staffing and teachers.
• Maintaining regular free Islamic educational programmes in-person and online.
• Sustaining lifelong community services such as shahadahs, bereavement support, janazah, marriage counselling, mental health support, and nikah solemnisations.
• Continued Islamic educational programmes for individuals of all ages and future generations.
• Keeping our office space alive, which also acts as a safe, inviting space for the Nusantara Muslim community to thrive and flourish.

Nusantara Muslims refer to Muslim communities originating from the Malay Archipelago, which includes countries such as Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei, Singapore, and parts of Thailand and the Philippines. These communities have a rich heritage deeply rooted in Islamic traditions, often blending harmoniously with local cultures and practices.

(2) Why do you target the Nusantara Muslim demographic in particular?

The Suffa Educational Foundation recognises the unique needs and challenges faced by the Nusantara Muslim community in the UK and Europe. These include preserving their cultural and religious identity, accessing resources tailored to their linguistic and cultural context, and maintaining connections with their heritage. By focusing on this demographic, we aim to provide culturally relevant Islamic education and essential community services to support their spiritual and social well-being. There are no other registered charities supporting this particular demographic in the UK and Europe with their unique contextual needs.

Definitely not! Our services and programmes are open to all. Whilst we specialise in addressing the needs of the Nusantara Muslim community, we warmly welcome participation from anyone seeking foundational Islamic knowledge and community support, regardless of their background.
