CALL TO ACTION

Stittsville is one of the fastest growing Muslim communities in west Ottawa. There is an important need to rent a space to ESTABLISH a Musallah, which will serve as the cornerstone of the Stittsville Muslim community, insha'Allah. Not only will this provide a place of worship for all the residents, it will be a hub for a variety of educational, social and community services, insha'Allah.

THE STITTSVILLE STORY

The Muslim population in Stittsville has grown tremendously in the last couple of years.  This has led many in the community to start dreaming of praying in a local Musallah. In the summer of last year, the Stittsville Muslim Association (SMA) was established with a vision to meet the religious, social and education needs of the the community.  It started from very humble beginnings, with a Whatsapp group, and has progressed quickly to a registered, not-for-profit, with its charitable status approval in progress from the CRA, insha'Allah.  Due to the mercy and blessings of Allah SWT, since November 2019, SMA has been able to establish quality programs including regular Jumuah Prayers, a monthly family night and a Taraweeh program in Ramadan (cancelled due to COVID-19) at the Stittsville United Church.  As a next step, towards signing a multi-year lease for renting a space for Musallah, we need to raise ~$40,000, which is required to cover rent for one year, insha'Allah.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?

First, we need everyone to make DUA'A for the community to raise the funds required to rent a space for a Musallah in Stittsville (Note: we are working closely with a real estate agent for suitable locations).  Second, we NEED to have a financial contribution from every community member to achieve this most needed next step, insha'Allah.  Third, we need you to ENCOURAGE your friends and family to make a contribution to help make this campaign successful, insha'Allah. 

WITH YOUR DONATION:

✅ you will be contributing to the construction to your house in JANNAH, because of the Hadith, "Uthman ibn Affan reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Whoever builds a mosque for Allah, then Allah will build for him a house like it in Paradise.” Source: Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 439, Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 533

✅ you will be providing a place of worship, and as long as people pray there, you will be rewarded in this world and the hereafter, in the form of Sadaqa Jariyah.

✅ a Musallah/Masjid serves as a school, where Quran is taught, classes on Tafseer, Memorization and Tajweed are instructed, and as long as people are being taught beneficial subjects, you will be rewarded by Allah in both worlds insh'Allah (Sadaqa Jariyah), in addition to supporting the growth of the muslim community in Stittsville.
